    Taking the Roadster into Battle!

Ok, so I started doing some vox in a metal band with my buddies. Sooner or later I will also start serving as a second guitar player. Right now I have a Roadster head, and one of the over-sized Mesa 4 x 12's. I am thinking about picking up another 4 x12 and different head for gigging, for a few...

    Calling All Non-Metalheads!

Although I sing in a metal band. I like to play alot of other stuff. Not so much country, but classic rock, post rock, space rock.....etc etc. Ive found that I can can get a very wide variety of tones with my Roadster, and a few pedals. For Metal, I actually think my guitar players 6505 has...

MXR 10 band, is this really the best EQ option?

I tend to enjoy utilizing a variety of tones, from the over-driven Neil Young stuff, to Sunn O)))'s monolithic pillars of doom and gloom, to name a few. I thought about utilizing a ParaEQ made by Empress Effects. I think my first stop will be switching out tubes and experimenting. Over all...

MXR 10 band, is this really the best EQ option?

Right on. Well, I planned on using it to pull some of the extreme highs/harshness out of the sound. I will see how things sound after I replace the stock tubes. The EQ is not absolutely necessary for what I do. Thanks for the info. If anything, I will try it out, and if it doesn't fit like I...

MXR 10 band, is this really the best EQ option?

I am thinking about adding an EQ to my Roadster/4x12 setup. I have heard alot of people rave about the MXR 10 band EQ used in conjunction with a Recto/Roadster/Roadking. However, I've heard quite a few complain about it sucking tone, even when turned off. First off, do any of you guys have...

Loud pop/click sound when using footswitch

So I don't need to worry about the popping damaging the speakers?

Loud pop/click sound when using footswitch

I too have had the same popping issues. Basically, I flip it to Spongy. Let it sit for about 2 min., then with each volume knob at 0, cycle through each channel. After cycling is complete, I switch the amp to ON, and cycle once more, with the volume for each channel still set at 0. Tried this...

    Avatar cabinets?

Thanks guys! I am tossing around the idea of getting an Avatar cab, either a 2x12 or 4x12 with Greenbacks. I currently have a Mesa 4x12 with V 30's hooked up to the Roadster. Trying to add a nice doom/stoner/sludge/drone sound to my palette, so the idea of breaking up some Greenbacks came to mind.

Does ne1 know how to squeeze this tone out of a Roadster?

I picked up a Catalinbread SFT a few months back. I got quite a few good tones, but am still working at the grainy doom sound. Thought about adding a power attenuator and a cab full of greenbacks for the break up factor.

    Recto fizz tube remedy?

Is it possible to pull the old preamp tubes, switch em out for new ones, then if i am not happy with the new tubes, pop the old ones back in?

    Recto fizz tube remedy?

I am wondering if there is any way to remedy the "fizzy" artifacts in the sound when i crank the gain on channels 3 & 4. Thought perhaps different preamp tubes might tame the beast.

Mesa quality - looking for some assurance

For what its worth.... I purchased a Roadster head and Recto cab at the beginning of this year. So far so good. I would recommend purchasing from a dealer that isn't likely to give you a royal "screwging" if it comes down to it. If something is wrong, I think a local independent is more likely...

Whats the best way to clean/dust the inside of a Recto head?

Ive got a Roadster head. I am looking to dust out the inside, but I dont want to cause any damage or disassemble the head. Any recommendations?

This might not be "correct", but will it harm my amp head..?

I am planning on doing some acoustic projects in the near future. I would like to run the signal from my acoustic guitar pick-up (aftermarket style pickup, not a built in pickup) to my Mesa Roadster Head when I am doing live work. I know this might not be the "correct" way to go about...

Pulling power amp tubes on a Roadster

I recently purchased a Roadster head. I run all 4 channels at 50 watts? Would it make sense to pull 2 of the power tubes out of there, and a rectifier tube.....if so which ones? My thinking is that when i burn through the 6l6's that are in there, I can pop in the 2 6l6's I pulled out...... They...

In need of a mesa recto series amp. But dont know which one.

I spent the last six months researching amps. While i was laid off work for about two months I spent day and night searching manufacturer forums, reviews, and video. After playing through head after head.....I settled on the Mesa Rectifier Series, the Roadster Head and the Mesa Recto cab to be...
