Studio Preamp for sale. It's 240V. £300
Missing the reverb tank, reverb transformer and EQ+Rev jack socket (previous owner decided to remove them for some reason).
Volume knob appears to be a Fender-y kind of knob and 4 of the other knobs have been broken and some point and glued back together...
This isn't actually a bad idea and something that Mesa has done before. DC-3, DC-5 and DC-10 or Single, Dual and Triple Rec.
It could be the Mark V:25 has 2 channels, Mark V:50 3 channels and Mark V:90 has 4 channels.
I have a spare DC-5 mains/power transformer for sale. I'm in the UK (I swapped it out for a 230V transformer). It's completely working, but of little use to me now.
I'm guessing this is of most use to someone in the US, although I'm not too sure if it's worth the shipping price.
Would like £40...
Yeah I have it on the lead channel. I have it set with a very small amount of distortion, basically using it as a boost. All I need is 2 channels, super clean and mega dirty!
I've just had it all open this week, did the volume mod and changed the input impedance resistor on the lead channel from...
A little late to this party ...
I use either an Ibanez TS10 or a Rat in front of my DC5 head. I am going for the dirty death metal sound so they work quite nicely with the DC5.
The tone controls are actually in different places in the pre-amp section. On the Lead channel they're at the end of the pre-amp (much like a Marshall or pretty much every other amp that is made these days). All the gain and distortion happens first and then the signal is affected by the tone...
yes this is normal. The tone stack on the clean channel is after the second gain stage and before the gain control (unlike the lead channel where the tone stack is at the end of all the gain stages). By turning down all the tone controls then you're stopping any signal going through the major...
just replaced the mains transformer from my DC-5 head. This is an original Mesa 110V transformer (I replaced it with a 230V transformer as I live in the UK).

I have a Carbon Copy and a DC5 head. The CC will colour the tone, it was designed to. It's an analogue bucket brigade delay. That said, it's not a dark pedal. If you turn the modulation on (which applies a chorus effect to the delayed signal) then you do appear to get more bass out of it.
Great...
Hello all,
Just discovered this wonderful forum.
Here's the situation I have. Currently buying a house and my Engl Fireball half stack is too big so I'm looking for something more in the way of combo size to have at home. Been looking at the Express and F series Mesa's.
I mostly play de-tuned...
