Definitely interested in this and I'm in Brookline MA. It will be a week or two before I get the money in order so hopefully it's still around! Where in Boston are you?

    mark iv just blew :'(

Same thing happened to my ~1993? Mark IVA head. Just hadn't been maintained like it should have and a power tube redplated and blew a resistor. I think it came down to dirty tube sockets.

FS: Mesa 3/4 back 1x12 speaker cabinet - Philly area - SOLD

Up for sale is a great condition Boogie 3/4 back cabinet with a single 1x12 C90 speaker. I've had a ton of offers for this, so I apologize for any deals that didn't go through - no one seemed to want to finalize however. Either way, I no longer want to ship this cab and will be selling locally...

WTT: MK IV Widebody combo for F-50 combo + cash

I'm gonna be in Canada until Thursday so won't be responding to PM's in that time period, unless I get access to a computer :) I'm now considering selling the Mark IV outright, but would prefer a local sale. Philly area

    Packing Tips

I bubble wrap the entire amp, then cut cardboard sides to put all around the amp. Basically it ends up being a custom sized box that fits really tight around the bubble wrap. Where do you guys get boxes??

WTT: MK IV Widebody combo for F-50 combo + cash

I just need something cheaper, and this fits the bill very well - I'd like to try a more Recto-ish tone too. It has a JJ high gain in V3 and I believe V2, and a "balanced" JJ in V5 (not sure what that means but it's the only tube I have that sounds good in that spot). I have Mesa 12AX7's in V1...

Wish I would have seen this a couple months ago, would have gone for it. Although I'm trading my Mk IV widebody combo for an F-50 + cash I think anyway.

    Mark IV help!

Good to hear you worked it out. Especially without putting the middle EQ slider way at the bottom, I still don't understand how people can think that sounds good.

FS: Mark IV Medium Head "A"

Hi everyone, I'm selling an early 90's Mark IV medium head - serial IV 3548. This is the "A" Revision. I've had it for about 8 months running through a Mesa 3/4 back 1x12 cab, which I will likely keep. I'm selling because I just bought a widebody Mk IV combo - I'm going to college in Boston...

    WTB: Mark IV Head

I've got a medium head that isn't particularly new serial 3548 I believe and it's the A version. E-mail me at (my user name) @ gmail.com if you're interested, I'll get you pics and details. Selling it because I bought a widebody combo for easier transportation in Boston / no car next year to...

    Mark IV HATE!

Figures that it wasn't the amp all along, just one of the JJ preamp tubes. It sounds like crap with that tube in V4 or V3 where it was, but move it to V5 (reverb?) and fill the rest in it sounds great. MOST of the sharp / spikyness is gone, I think one of the other tubes might have a slight...

What the hell, MORE Mark IV problems

I've used both the footswitch and the channel switch in the back. Used both the combo speaker and a 1x12 extension, and multiple guitars. I switched tubes to a couple new Mesa 440's and JJ 6L6's and also 5x JJ 12AX7 which worked fine in a different amp and it's the same thing. I plan on putting...

What the hell, MORE Mark IV problems

Point taken, thank you. You don't how much it would cost though, or why it would happen in the first place? I'm pissed that I managed to get two Mark IV's that have needed repairs, probably the worst luck in history.

What the hell, MORE Mark IV problems

Figured it was something like that, but where exactly are they in the circuitry? Could I fix it myself if I'm OK with a soldering iron, and if not how much is it gonna be to get fixed? And why is the lead channel unaffected? AND WHY DID THIS HAPPEN with what is supposedly one of the most...

What the hell, MORE Mark IV problems

I'm trading up my Mk IV head for a combo version for easier transportation, especially at school next year. This one is ~2001 B widebody combo, looks like it's in great shape. But when I play past certain volumes (2 on master 3 on rhy2 channel for example - not too loud - full or tweed and 30w...

    Mark IV HATE!

No, sorry - I could try some direct out stuff to see if it picks up any of my fizz, but last time I tried that all the high end was lost and it just sounded muffled

    Mark IV HATE!

Strings have changed many a time since I got the amp. Anyway I turned the amp on today and the distortion was weak, loud popping noises came out whenever i changed channels, and the clean channel wouldnt get clean. Same thing happened a month or two ago and I made a thread about it. I had to...
