Same thing happened to my ~1993? Mark IVA head. Just hadn't been maintained like it should have and a power tube redplated and blew a resistor. I think it came down to dirty tube sockets.

I bubble wrap the entire amp, then cut cardboard sides to put all around the amp. Basically it ends up being a custom sized box that fits really tight around the bubble wrap. Where do you guys get boxes??

I just need something cheaper, and this fits the bill very well - I'd like to try a more Recto-ish tone too. It has a JJ high gain in V3 and I believe V2, and a "balanced" JJ in V5 (not sure what that means but it's the only tube I have that sounds good in that spot). I have Mesa 12AX7's in V1...

Good to hear you worked it out. Especially without putting the middle EQ slider way at the bottom, I still don't understand how people can think that sounds good.
