If you want to run 84's, you need Yellowjackets or their equivilent. Tony

They had NO markings on them AT ALL! The seller said they were original, so I believe they are JJ's, but that is only an assumption... Tony

****! I FINALLY tried the Yellowjackets in my RKII!!! They are exactly what I was hoping for! Glassy, full of cut & Kerrang! They even seem to have more bottom than the 34's. Unfortunately I have to wait a couple of weeks or so, when my music room is finished, to hook up my open backed 4x10 up...

It took about 3 months for my RKII. When they build it....it will come! Not to worry! Tony

I'm not sure about a LSS, but on a DR or a RKII, a quick tweak fo the gain & presence will usually do the trick. I set the solo boost, which I don't use for solo's often, to equalize output differences between guitars. Just a thought... Tony

I'm going to experiment with replacing the EL34's with EL84's in my RK II. The Yellowjackets I got used came with no-name, beat looking tubes so I'm looking for any suggestions from you guys. I'd be willing to go NOS, but I don't want anything TOO pricey, as they WILL wear quickly, I know...

Tried Spongy mode, still the same. Not a big deal, but I thought it was strange. It's also strange that in the manual, the front AND rear panel layouts are pretty much backwards! VERY strange! Tony

I just got it directly from Mesa 11 days ago, so this isn't an "old" issue. The issue is this, put simply. the tube recto indicators stay lit in addition to the diode light in diode mode. The diode light goes out in tube recto mode. Tony

I'm in the process of a basement remodel which includes a home theater & a music room & am avoiding florescent lighting for noise reasons. Do halogen bulbs have ant inherrent noise issues? I've found some fixtures that I really like for the theater room, but don't want to use them if problems...

[If you face the back of the RK1 head and look to the right, you'll see the 2 rectifier tubes. Then, the next two tubes to the left of the rectifiers are the 2 6L6's that I replaced.] Shouldn't it be either the inside or outside 6L6's? I just want to clarify before attempting. Tony
