    Boogie factory pics

It was actually the opposite. They said Hetfield would bring in other reference amps and have them tweak his Mesa rig to achieve those sounds. The guy who helped me is the guy who filled in for Hetfield after that pyro incident burned him up. I saw Metallica, GNR and Body Count at the Oakland...

    Boogie factory pics

I took a Blue Angel to the factory a few years ago. I was in this little sound room with a tech while he worked on it, and a bunch of Hetfield's amps were in the corner, including a Wizard head. They all had clippings from porn mags taped on.

Getting a mic to record my ROV.

Something I have learned: Get the right mike, but don't ruin your sessions by using a cheap mike preamp. Get the best preamp you can afford.

Weird thing with LSC gain channel

I have a friend here who knows a guy who designed some of the 65 Amps or something like that, and he says the dude is like a NASA engineer. But if I do that, it's gonna cost me, and of course it will void my warranty (even though I don't want to actually use the warranty because shipping is a...

Weird thing with LSC gain channel

On my LSC 1x12 drive channel, the signal cuts out when I have the drive up past 2 o'clock. It sounds like the signal gets cut in half, and the bottom end disappears. If I whap the top of the amp, like you would with an old TV with a bad picture, the full sound comes back. But the instant I hit...

Lone Star Classic: Why is Channel 1 noisier than Channel 2?

Bump: I switched the FX loop out of the circuit, and the hiss and hum went away. Could this simply be a tube problem when the loop is swtich on?

Lone Star Classic: Why is Channel 1 noisier than Channel 2?

I have Channel 1 set for clean, Channel 2 for dirt, and yet the clean channel is noisier than the other. Anyone know why this is?

Any recommendations for complete retube of Lone Star classic

The stock tone is fine, but I'm interested in getting better quality tubes. If you have any recommendations for currently made tubes or NOS, that'd be great. I prefer the 6L6s. Also, which tube dealers?

    FS: 1984-85 Mesa S.O.B. 1x12 w/reverb, FX loop

Thought I had a local buyer, but his wife changed his mind for him. Mesa 1x12 combo with original EV speaker. Black tolex, black grille. Made in 1984-85 with factory upgrades — FX loop, reverb. In good cosmetic condition, but there are scuffs and stains here and there, nothing broken or torn to...

Express combos - welcome to rip-off Britain once again...

That problem for you Brits who want U.S.-made gear is as old as rock 'n' roll. Peter Noone told me that back in the early 60s, young British musicians who wanted Fender and Gibson had to be from the royal family to afford it. Thank God for Vox. It was hard to get American pop records, too.

    Need help with mid-80s S.O.B.

1984-85 SOB, 60 watts, reverb, limiter, loop. Does anyone have a manual for the SOB they'd be willing to share? I can't find one at the Mesa site. I can get one for the Mark I, but it's got some differences. Can anyone tell me about the loop? Is it series or parallel? There is also a toggle...
