    "DRG"?

I had recently wondered the same thing, but I think I found it in that Mk IIC+ Guide. D=Simul, R=Reverb, G=Graphic EQ

Any Hollow/Semi-Hollow Body Players Out There?

I use a PRS Hollowbody II with my blue stripe MkIII. The controlled feedback is so smooth and everything I play comes out so clear (clean or dirty) that I almost never play my solidbodies anymore. I still love the solidbodies, but I'm just having too much fun with the Hollow.

Do Mark IIIs vary significantly amp to amp?

I can't speak to the differences from amp to amp, but if you are going for treys sound try setting your first tube screamer drive to zero, and your second drive to 10. Having a compressor next is a big key to the sound as well. Now try this setting on your amp...

    Compressor to use.

I was using the MXR Dyna Comp when I got my MkIII, but soon replaced it with the Keeley Two Knob. The Keeley is much better IMO. I almost never turn it off.

How much work to remount my MKIII combo in a head cab?

I also have a blue stripe, and recently decided to go with a head conversion. I had a friend ask me if I was sure I wanted to lose the portability of a combo, so I told him to pick the amp up one inch off the ground, and does it and just goes, "oh." I got my head shell from George (gts on this...

So, Should I MOd My Mark III?

My blue stripe mkiii has traces of reverb even with the knob on zero, does this mean I have the mod? What exactly is the reverb mod? How would you visually know if you have it? How do you return it to stock? Thanks!

    Less Gain For Lead Channel?

I have volume 1 set to 10. But I also use two tube screamers - one with the gain on zero, the other on 10. If I want a nice clean sound I just back off my guitar volume a bit and the with the two pedals I have such a range that I can get any type of gain I want (turn on both tube screamers...

How do you get the bass guitar to have it's own space?

Keep in mind that as you add tracks the mix changes. You can isolate a track and get to to sound how you like, but then add another to the first and the first sounds different. This effect increases the more you have in the mix. Indeed, get it to sound good to your ears, then add other tracks...

What 2x12 extension cab do you guys use???

That's what I am using under my MK III combo. Best amp I have ever had. I like the closed back, a previous owner cut my back panel into thirds, but I have always left them all on.

    Voodooman Update

I thought about taking a chance on VM, but instead I decided to go with Switch-Doctor. I got that trapezoid shaped 4-button with the attached cable assembly that terminates into the three 1/4" jacks: right angle for Lead, straight for Rhythm, and TRS for REV/EQ. The only thing I didn't like...

    1988 simuclass mark111

I just paid $800 for an amp almost just as you described (never been gigged though). The guy was asking $900. I bought it knowing exactly what I wanted and I am very pleased to have it. What something is worth is usually determined by what someone is willing to pay for it.

Whats the deal w/ mark 3s?

Interesting. The fact that my MkIII does respond this way is exactly why I love it so. I have only played through a friends IIC+ one time, but it was also amazing. I think I would be happy with either one.

How do you get the bass guitar to have it's own space?

I usually use my EQ to CUT frequencies. To answer your question about a tight notch, I would only do that if I need to eliminate a specific frequency, such as when there is an undesirable ring in a snare drum that I want to lower a bit. gonzo is right about experience though, like anything...

Looking for a Mk III Headshell - gts?

Hi, I just joined this forum after getting a Mk III Blue Stripe combo. I have been thinking of turning it into a head, and saw some old posts about somebody named "gts". Apparently he left the board, but does anyone know if he is still making headshells? Anyone know how to reach him? Thanks...

    NAD - MKIII Red Stripe!

What are you going to do with the shell when you get the rack? I am looking for a short head shell. I picked up my first Mesa a couple weeks ago (blue Mk III combo); amazing amp!
