I use a PRS Hollowbody II with my blue stripe MkIII. The controlled feedback is so smooth and everything I play comes out so clear (clean or dirty) that I almost never play my solidbodies anymore. I still love the solidbodies, but I'm just having too much fun with the Hollow.

I was using the MXR Dyna Comp when I got my MkIII, but soon replaced it with the Keeley Two Knob. The Keeley is much better IMO. I almost never turn it off.

My blue stripe mkiii has traces of reverb even with the knob on zero, does this mean I have the mod? What exactly is the reverb mod? How would you visually know if you have it? How do you return it to stock? Thanks!

I have volume 1 set to 10. But I also use two tube screamers - one with the gain on zero, the other on 10. If I want a nice clean sound I just back off my guitar volume a bit and the with the two pedals I have such a range that I can get any type of gain I want (turn on both tube screamers...

I just paid $800 for an amp almost just as you described (never been gigged though). The guy was asking $900. I bought it knowing exactly what I wanted and I am very pleased to have it. What something is worth is usually determined by what someone is willing to pay for it.

Interesting. The fact that my MkIII does respond this way is exactly why I love it so. I have only played through a friends IIC+ one time, but it was also amazing. I think I would be happy with either one.

I usually use my EQ to CUT frequencies. To answer your question about a tight notch, I would only do that if I need to eliminate a specific frequency, such as when there is an undesirable ring in a snare drum that I want to lower a bit. gonzo is right about experience though, like anything...
