I've run my Mark III (blue, simul) on 4 both through a 4x12 and through the stock EVM12L, always on the lead channel. It is obscenely loud, way too much to actually withstand for more than a minute or so without ear plugs. It is hard to believe just how loud the single 12" speaker gets!

I sometimes use the Pull Deep at lower volumes to add more body to the sound without drastically increasing the volume. Anytime that I turn up to 2 or more, though, I would turn it off. Too much bass.

I completely agree on Carvin, they really do make quality gear at very reasonable prices. I can guarantee that my 4x12 would hold it's own against any Marshall, Mesa, etc. Even their amps and guitars are nice. Wouldn't mind having another X100B or even a V3.

The lead mode on the red stripe Mark III is closest to the IIC+ lead which is what Metallica used. Just about any Mark III will get you reasonably close though. My blue stripe does a fine job at it. Just make sure to get one with the 5-band EQ built in. If you really want that scooped album...
