Cool, thanks for the link :) nice cases.
I love my Jeff Beck Strat but the Japanese Kahler Strat is something special. I bought it new in 1988! (can't believe it was that long ago) If I found another I'd buy it.
Don't laugh, but I use my Boss Sd-1 when I want a totally open, hot distortion. It just injects a bunch of harmonics into the sound that I can't normally entice out of my Strat single coils. I use it sparingly on just a few songs.
As I keep saying, there are plenty here who are happy with channel 2 just the way it is. My amp only gets it's master volume changed and even then that's done rarely.
I never use 10w, always on 50w.
Sounds great at low levels. Play small clubs and large venues, sometimes mic'd, generally not.
Some say it's easier to live with than Fender clean.
Can't comment on price unless you're in the UK :)
Had the guitars, now let's see some pedals! :)

Bottom left to right: TC Nova delay, Amp channel/Solo, Barber LTD, Barber Tone Press.
Thanks for all suggestions. FWIW I ended up buying a Carl Martin XII and it's gorgeous! Highly recommended. Got one for a steal, $65 bucks on Ebay! Immaculate. (not true bypass though, but it's not sucking tone)
Not a great photo, doesn't do them justice.
