have you checked the input jacks? what cables are you using? I know when I was using TRS cables in my rack I got hum using my Mesa Quad/295 Rig. when I switched to Monster Guitar cables It went away. Check those input jacks.

Hi, The Mesa Quad would be pretty close to the sound your looking for. I would pair it with the Mesa 295 simul power amp. Also you might want to try the Engl e570 or Egnater M4 those are killer preamps. for Mark iv sound, I highly recommend you stick to ALL TUBE preamps.

Yes thats how I run my Strategy 400 poweramp. it sounds more like a head then a rack when you run things this way. The master volume on a head usually is right before the poweramp section.

Have you tried cleaning the pots or maybe replacing the 12ax7 tubes? that usually helps. and its a cheap fix.
