Jonesboogie did you get this resolved? There's a post "TA30 giving out" just below yours that has same issue. One of the posters states TA has a phase inverter tube that could be the culprit.

Just curious, did you ever try a Mesa 5 Band EQ in the loop? I run one in my Mini Rectifier 25 and once eq'ed correctly it has a decent amount of bass/girth for me. YMMV.
