    LONESTAR 2x12 MINT $1500 shipped

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that footswitch cable in your picture is MIDI. The LS uses a 1/4" footswitch cable.

6L6 Tube Replacement Self Biasing Question

Right on, thanks guys! I knew something was fishy about self biasing tubes. I think I'll go with my standard JJ's from eurotubes. Take care! Zach

6L6 Tube Replacement Self Biasing Question

I'm going to replace my 2x12 LSC's 6L6 tubes coming up here and I've always put JJ tubes in other amps that I own. No particular reason, just liked the good folks out at eurotubes. So I've read that Mesa Boogie tubes are self biasing, is this only true of Mesa tubes? If I just stick a quad of...

Clean channel sounds better with overdrive pedal

Have you done the reeder mod? I did it recently and now both channels really are a true clone of eachother (at least to my ears).

Mesa Boogie Lonestar Classic 2X12 Combo

This is absurd, why has nobody bought this. I already have a 2x12 lonestar combo and I'm almost tempted to buy another based on how good a deal this is! Someone buy this! My dad just bought a brand new one, spent $2,400 for a wine cherry cover which he is now regretting now that he saw this...

    Compressor After Overdrive

I know everyone has their own preference and there are different schools of thought on the matter, but switching my setup has completely changed my tone. I've always run the compressor before my overdrive. Generally it went, tuner > wah > COMP > etc. I figured I'd give running the BB preamp...

50 watt settings and speaker configurations

I have been wondering the same thing myself. I'm using a 2x12 LSC Combo at 8 ohms currently. I've always been a combo guy, so I've just left the speaker configurations where they were. In the manual it says "If you are using the amplifier with both Channels set to the 50 watt output setting...

Let's see your "Pig rig" pics (Lonestars)

HAH! You said it! Slow acquisition of all of these things have luckily kept me out of debt! This lonestar was worth every penny. Thanks again for all the info everyone.

Let's see your "Pig rig" pics (Lonestars)

I started a "Special vs Classic" thread here a few months back and here I am now. Extremely happy Lonestar Classic 2x12 owner for about a month. British Tan Bronco Vinyl. Greatest amp I've ever played. Paired along with what is in my opinion the greatest sounding/feeling guitar, the PRS 513...

Lone Star vs. Lone Star special

I had a lot of questions about the difference between the two and had a pretty hefty thread going here: http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=38023 I ended up going with the Classic 2x12 Combo and I've been loving every minute of it. I'll just say the lonestar is worth it's weight...

    Compressor Pedal

I have only tried a handful of compressors but I'm now using the Keeley 4 Knob compressor and I'm loving it. Huge range of compression sounds but I basically have my one setting and just leave it there. It's pretty much always on.

Is the LSS right for me?

First and foremost, both of these amps are great! If it were me, I'd get the LSS or an LSC (which I just bought!!!). I work at a Mesa dealer and have put in a good amount of time with all of the mesa amps and while I love the Express series, I just greatly prefer the tone coming out of the...

    Special Vs Classic

Thanks so much for all of the info! Really great stuff. I'm pretty sure I'm going with a 1x12 Lonestar Classic, or maybe a Head/Cabinet option. I'll be sure to let everyone know once its all ordered.

    Electrical issues...common?

Sounds like you may have a bad power conditioner. The electrical current in your house most likely has all kinds of voltage irregularities in it which cause your amp to pop and make weird sounds, especially with things like your buddy turning on a fan. I do lots of home recording and before I...

what exactly do these amps weigh

I'm in the same boat as you, currently have a 2x12 monster and looking to get a Lonestar combo which will probably be a monster as well, but as my dad has said many times "If you didn't want to carry stuff, you should have played the flute." The lonestar tone is worth the weight.

    Special Vs Classic

Interesting. I'm pretty sure I'm placing an order for the a 1x12 LSC. Just trying to decide what color, haha! Very extraneous I know, but I figure this amp is going to last me a long time and I've had too many black amps. I like the green! Again, thanks so much for all of the advice...

Where did you read this, and why do you think they recommend the 1x12?
