    Similar speaker to EV 12?

    The EV12L has prominent highs and lows, with 'relaxed' mids, so it sounds scooped, and records like hell. I don't like them live, Zakk sounds much better with V30's than with the EV's and Joe B. sounds like he's beating a dead horse to get some mids to cut. My solution was to put the EV's...

    Best Speaker for Open Back 1x12 for MkV25

    Put a Weber CV124F in there. A better MC-90/CL-80 that works great in open back cabs/combos as well as the big sealed cabs. Full range, beautiful cleans, lots of mid-punch.

    Mixing 6l6 and El34

    I tried the 6L6/EL34 combo in my Mark IV A. I'm getting tired of the straight 6L6 tone. I want some more mids, and no one seems to make a 'middier' 6L6. Wasn't impressed with the 6L6/EL34 combo, at lower/medium volumes there was too much mid tone, and it sure didn't sound like a boosted...
