    Mark IV reverb........................WTF ! ! !

My Mark IV is the B version, I'll try it with the volume cranked and see what response I get. If that fails I'll look at another reverb valve. Just as a side-note, I have had the amp since December last year and this is the only problem I have had. Rock solid amp, and it sounds...

    Mark IV reverb........................WTF ! ! !

Hi all, Every time I add reverb on the lead channel it alters the tone drastically. It changes from liquid smooth distortion to a horrible thin raspy distortion the minute I add any amount of reverb. It sounds like some of those really cheap distortion pedals, not an amp worth just under...

Schecter guitars................just how good are they?

I would like to apologise to everyone in the Boogie Board community for bringing this post into the world! I thought it would bring out some divided opinions, but man oh man......................5 pages worth! AWESOME!

    Which wah??

I know this is a common question and it has been covered before but I'd like to hear other opinions on wah pedals. I currently use a Dunlop Crybaby which i purchased back in the mid 90's, it is great for classic rock and some funk, however I very rarely play that type of music. I'm looking...

    Ken Lawrence explorers....

His official website is: http://www.kennethlawrenceinstruments.com/ However I have tried to look at this for about two years and it still says that it is under construction! As far as I am aware you'll struggle to find a dealer for his guitars, I think it's a case of contacting him and...

Schecter guitars................just how good are they?

Ha ha, I knew there would be divided opinion on this :D I must admit that the cheap, bottom of the range Schecters don't look or feel great at all. And I can only talk about the ones that I have seen/played. But my Hellraiser Tempest just plays so well and feels (and looks) superior...

Schecter guitars................just how good are they?

I've recently purchased a brand new Schecter Hellrasier Tempest and I am really impressed with it!! The finish, the build quality, the electronics, pickups etc just seem so good that I have to laugh at the £450 I paid. I've read a lot of good things about Schecter and just wanted to know what...

EMG's and Boogies, is there a Problem?

I use an EMG 81 and 60a with my Mark IV and it's very quiet, no interference, no buzzing, hissing or crackling. In fact I would recommend them to anyone who asked, they're just great pickups!

    Nothin' but MarkIV

I prefer the sound of the guitar going straight into the amp without going through a dozen other pedals. At most I will have my guitar go through a boss tuner pedal - occasionally a crybaby wah - then boss noise gate into the amp. I'm seriously considering just using the tuner though as the...

    LOG latest album tone

I'm sure I read somewhere that they used Mark IV's and Framus amps on Sacrament. I personally prefer the tone on Ashes, for some reason the production on Sacrament doesn't sound as good. Which is weird as they used the same producer for the last couple of albums.

Output level or individual master control?

Thanks for the offer man but I can't afford it at this point in time and I'm also looking for a 2x12. I just spoke to Orange and they say that they dont charge any more for making a black 2x12 cabinet but that it takes a little longer to get to you!

Output level or individual master control?

I do like the look at of gflex 2x12, however they are very limited in the UK and also very expensive! There just as much as Mesa's :( Gflex 2x2 = £529 Framus 2x12 = £214 Mesa recto 2x12 = £558 Orange 2x12 = £389 Orange do customising so I can get the 2x12 in black, it looks mean ! !

Output level or individual master control?

I guess I just need to expore some cabs in a bit more detail, I'll defo go for a 2x12 but what one exactly I can't decide till I hear them. I hear a lot of good things about the half-backs so they will be on my list of cabs to try. I'm also gonna try rectifier cabs, stilleto cabs, Orange cabs...

Output level or individual master control?

Cool, thanks man. I notice that you also have a Marshall 1960a cab, what do you think to it? Ideally I would like to downsize to a 2x12 but after shelling out for the Mark IV I'm gonna have to wait! I think I'm gonna go for either a rectifier cab or an Orange cab. I heard someone play a Dual...

Output level or individual master control?

I recently purchased a Mark IV and I am in love with the **** thing, it's such a great sounding amp..............it's very musical. However I'm not sure which is the best way to crank it and get the valves working! Should I use the main output level as my main volume control or would it be...

    Finally..........the Mark IV is mine!

So it has finally arrived! I am please to announce that I am the proud owner of a brand new Mark IV ! What a great amp, I knew it was versatile and that it had many different sounds but I am genuinely surprised with how many there are! It's one of those amps that makes you play better, I...

    Finally..........the Mark IV is mine!

I think your "chap" told a white lie and was talking out of tucus. The disadvantage with the medium head imo is that you can't fit it cleanly on a single 112 cab. Greg Yeah I was gonna go for the short head but I decided that I wanted at least a 2x12, hence my decision to go with the medium...

    Finally..........the Mark IV is mine!

I got the medium head, the chap at the music store suggested that the reverb on the medium head is slightly better than the short head. It doesn't bother me too much though as I didn't buy the amp for its reverb !

    Finally..........the Mark IV is mine!

Yeah I guess I'm being a little impatient ! Still, after being told 4-6 weeks, then finding out that it will be 8-10 weeks is a killer! I need to crank up the Mark IV ! ! At least I still have my Dual Recto to keep me company till it arrives, it really isn't all that bad I suppose
