WTB: Mesa Black Shadow EVM12L for my Mark III.

Hey guys, I’m looking for a nice clean EVM12L 12” 8 ohm speaker for my Mark III, definitely a U.S. made one and also preferably a Mesa branded one. Let me know what you have!

Rectoverb 25 vs its big brother

I would have to hear the RV25 driving a 4x12 cab in order to comment on that legitimately. Maybe someone else can chime in here? I will say that Ch.2 Modern mode is not in the top five things I appreciate about it. The combo is pretty **** aggressive sounding @ 25W through the new Fillmore...

Rectoverb 25 vs its big brother

The RV25 combo is a new beast all it’s own in my opinion. It definitely has some tricks up it’s sleeve particularly in 10W mode that I have not heard from another Mesa amp. It’s super responsive and crunchy and juicy. One thing it does have in common with the big Rectos (that I almost never...

WTT Mark 5:25 head for Rectoverb 25 head

This is a mint condition Mark 5:25 head I purchased brand new last year from Mesa dealer McKenzie River Music in Eugene, OR. It has had some light use in the studio only and comes with cover, footswitch, and all the original documentation and packaging. I want to trade it straight across for...

    RA-100 w/ Suhr guitar - live video - thoughts?

I really enjoy seeing a band doing something original and cool. Excellent work sir. I would have to agree with prior comments about the mix. For me the bass is far too forward and uncoupled from the drums. Is it his recording space/band? ;)

Pink Floyd like tones from Rectoverb 25?

Are you talking about the chorded part or the single string plucking part? There isn't a lot that the Recto 25 can't pull off. That being said, one thing it doesn't have is a bunch of clean headroom, which you need if you want to play either of those parts loudly. For the chorded part you're...

    Difference between two 25w amps.

You really need to A/B these amps in person before you make a decision. I own an F30, Rectoverb 25 combo, and have A/B'd the Recto against the Express 5:25+. These amps along with the Mark 5:25 all use the same Dyna Watt 2xEL84 power sections, yet all have their own unique sound and feel. I have...

    Tremolo pedal

I had the opportunity to try both the Diamond and the Empress pedals before buying. They employ similar circuitry and features, are both expensive as hell, and both sound excellent. The Diamond has four waveform options vs. three on the Empress, and the Empress will toggle between two speeds...

    Which Mesa to Get

I'd second the Rectoverb 25 suggestion so long as you don't plan to play loud. Any Boogie using the DynaWatt EL84 power section will not have a lot of clean headroom at higher volumes. The F series amps also have great clean channels and can be found for much less than any new Mesa on CL.

Mark V:25 Got a facelift already!

Mesa did that? It isn't very cleanly done. I like the look but I'd ask them to re-wrap it.
