i have also felt a shock from my guitar before.not all the time but occasionally.maybe i have a grounding problem?

ive been reading a lot about replacing filter caps.could this contribute to the hiss and hum?is there anything i can do to test for this?

the gain on both my channel 2 and 3 are pretty high.about 8.my guitars with humbuckers in them still have the buzz.just a little quieter.

i have came to the conclusion that i need a boost pedal to tighten up my rhy 2 channel on my mark 4.i understand about the switchable loop...but with the boost needing to go in front of the amp,i guess there is no way to engage it only when i turn channel 2 on?the boost does need to go in front...

maybe someone can give me some input?i am basically a tone idiot...but i am slowly starting to figure things out.i have a mark 4 a.i think i have finally discovered the tone i am looking for(especially my big struggle,channel 2)wanting a nice crisp clean channel...an ac/dc like punchy channel...

can you change some of the settings...such as mid gain/harmonics,pentode /triode...on the fly.without switching the amp to standby?

could someone explain the physical and tonal differeces between pentode and triode.what do you guys prefer?
