I am with warren... disengaging the Loop makes a big difference IMHO ..not just for tone freaks. rc booster here also. Do miss the solo function but wont sacrifice tone ATM
If you try them post your thoughts, I am going to try them myself.... Here is Bob's spiel ...... We do not care for the yellow jacket adaptors, they will cut the power but they will...
I fried my screen resistor after blowing a tube just the other day. Sounded just like you described. When I had a look everything seemed ok. so I just grabbed the resistors and one just crumbled in my fingers-Still could be a screen resistor.I took them all out and put better ones in?!.
Thanks Charles, Very helpful I will tell you what I think of the mods in a few weeks as when I put Her back together one of the tubes blew and took out the carbon resistor
Thanks mate, I already ordered the tubes will be here next week. I just finished your mods and will report back after the weekend.Though I think they will be perfect for me as I haven't used the 2ND channel for a while preferring pedals on channel 1 and as for the bass ....well I'm a little...
sorry guys for hijacking the thread.I just wrote an e mail to Doug's tubes saying I wanted the 6v6 He said the EH definitely wouldn't handle 100 watts JJ's might with spongy setting and lower voltage but not the EH .He must be just wrong I am giving el 84 a go on the outside and 6v6 in the...
yea Im a fan I have three - I bought an Orville by Gibson solid Quilted top from japan very rare. Also japanese fender and k Yari acoustic which is around 35 years old and good to hang on the wall only. IM a big fan of the japanese craftsmanship
Just a little update I set my amp to the petrucci settings..Thanks Barry, and tweaked it a bit. It was the best sound i have had  It was inspiring I found i only really used one pedal The Ac booster - my favourite.I have a winging neighbour I will blame her for not letting me play at...
You guys may be right I dont realy know what i want.- an amp with great cleans and good driven or great gain and good cleans. I come from a Hevy metal Background I only ever I had jackson, Ibanez and BC rich Guitars Played through Marshalls I dont thing i thought about tone much Just scooped the...
Barry- The tone Knob is not wired to the bridge(strat)- Hasn't been since my guy put 57's in it.Djw-I might try putting more agressive pickups in the Gibson. The gibson eats the fender in my marshall 57 clasic is in the bridge and thanks all for imput
I might just try that Madryan I Hardly ever use the single coil bridge pickup in the strat...It makes sense to me.I was reading about that pickup this morning. My strat seems to be a little topy .I read a few people play the avn blues pups and love them through the Lonestar. Iam after a new...
No I haven't Barry but I'm straight there...Thanks..Here it is BTW I usually have my bass around 9.00 sometimes more with the strat John looks like he's got it all the way down on the second channel. Sometimes i think it is hard too dial in enough tight Bottom end without getting muddy...
I think you loose a little of the bass response with an amp stand.I bought an amp stand used it about three times then planed down a chunk of wood and used that. Not the best for small stages sometimes you can feel it through your feet - this I love. I have the classic and I agree you don't get...
The Lonestar is the most guitar sensitive amp I've owned. I have only two electric guitars at the moment (long story). One is a Japanese fender with 57's The other is an OBG solid QM top Les Paul with 57 classic and Tom Holmes PAF style pups.I usually use the fender with the classic as the gibo...
When I first got the lonestar I used the second channel For sustaining lead type sound I think i set it something like the 'singing lead' on the instant gratification settings. Now I just set the second channel with just a little more bite. I use stomp boxes for more gain I have a byoc...
yea ursinus, definitely something wrong with the amp my tech didn't pick up. Gigged with it tonight sounded like **** buzzing out when it gets pushed May have stuffed the interim speakers. Played through a F 50 and a 40 year old fender amp Last night yes I was reminded what good tone sounds...
well I just want to close this topic by saying even though the speakers turned out to be not covered by warranty? mesa said they would replace them. I am blown away and fully converted.
