I use my Mark IV for country/rockabilly/blues/classic rock and it works fine for all of them. It is quite a versatile amp. With that said.. I did spend a LOT more time tweaking this amp than I ever spent on any other before finding my voice on it.

I'd have a hard time imagining that an EVM is too strong in the mids. Most likely your problem can be solved by a good retube.

Have found few black 2x12 halfback's for sale but no sign of a white one so far. I'll end up buying a black one if if a white one doesn't surface but i'd greatly prefer a white one. I'll pay nicely for a white one in good condition especially if it has a Mesa labeled EVM loaded in the bottom...

The other guitar player in our band uses a jeckyl & hyde...he gets some great sounds out of it. Anything from mild to wild, tho he tends to stay closer to the mild side. I'd use one if I were looking for a pedal.

the stock speakers are 2x16ohm wired in parallel. So from the factory the amp is using an 8ohm load. However the Lonestar amps will change impedence when you change wattage settings. Check out this link for more info...
