Its most likely the reverb tank rattling to my expirience. Its a spring reverb tank so the springs rattle with the volume. :wink:

What do you think of the mmarshall you've been using? Maybe a stilleto is up your alley?? If its not what your looking for try a single rec--BTW with the poweramp volume up and the preamp volume down the cleans are rediculously lush to me-- :wink:

Ive owned a 96 Tremoverb head for 2 years and now traded it for a 3 channel Triple Recto going on 2 years ago, and the difference that I heard was that the Tremoverb was alot warmer. Im not sure that the difference was gain but I always had trouble getting it to crunch with the chunk in order...

In your theory about the Mark IV and the IIC+ what charactoristics are you speaking of that differentiate the 2 and make them rectifier sounding together? What does a IIC+ sound like in this theory? What does a 4 sound like in this theory? Would you have enough gain between them? Would you...

I went back to the Vintage mode myself. There is a sweetness to the mid-range there that seems to be absent from the Modern mode. I like it so far but there is a definate trade off in the bottom end deparment. I wish there was some sort of way to blend these 2 voicings togethere to get the...

Maybe I'll have to give that a shot--Ive been messing with putting my gain @ lower levels : 12-1 oclock instead of the usual 2:30-3. Its really opened my ability to turn the amp up a little more. This might make things better? :wink:

What kind of pickups are you using? If you have a hotter mid-spiked pickup like an EMG or something its going to do that! Isnt that what you want though? Maybe try backing off your guitar volume or stading further away from the amp with your strings pointed away from the cab when you have it...

I think its the reverb tank still--the bottom end on your heavy channel might be just the resonance the tank needs to make that sound--the fact that it gets worse when you turn it up louder kind of gives that theory a little more ground as well. ??
