    LSS format question

and P.S. the one above was a custom order the head usually comes brown and tan, mine above was all brown, dealer ordered it that way, that is not the usual and I wound up selling it to buy the 1x12 below more eye candy for youz [/img]

    LSS format question

the head is cool and I know a couple dealers that have one in stock if you don't want to wait below was my head/cab combo....and it sounded a little more open then the regular 1x12, both sound awesome I like the 2x12 better for cleans, if you already have a 1x12 cab it gives a nicer variety...

Tried an Express 5:50 and 5:25... disappointed

I hear you, and agree, but I did buy the 5:25 I was a big fan of the F-30, but did not own one but would plug in when I wanted high gain at a GC or wherever Asked a Mesa rep why it was being discontinued, and he said it's considered a one trick pony, too much gain for most so I do believe the...

    GC loses Mesa?

CoolRails, the best place for Mesa in OC, or even Hollywood is Rockit Music in Brea Lots of custom stuff, hard wood, leather, custom colors and they do not get beat on the ones in Hollywood, get much more of a work out and forget GC, I have never seen a Road King or Roadster there that wasn't...

Anyone been to a Mesa Boogie Clinic ?

I went to one with Andy Timmons, and not sure I would have called it a Mesa clinic. More of an Andy Timmons clinic even though he did play through 2 diff models I was hoping they would go over the features more, and the most impressive thing I saw was when I got there early and he was playing...

General question; Combo as opposed to head?

not sure what a "shock excitation at a fundamental frequency of 23 cycles per second with an amplitude of 0.11" really does if it doesn't generate mucho harmonics, it's prob not the best test most amps prob don't even produce frequencies that low, humans sure can't hear that low

General question; Combo as opposed to head?

below is another comment he made further down on the thread "Very true. Combo's are horrible for tubes, also terrible to record. Some power tubes work just fine but can have a mechanical vibration that mics pick up. I'm always resisting making combo's" "There is interaction between the power...

General question; Combo as opposed to head?

Yes, I have heard this numerous times. I spoke with one the larger more notable online tube stores about this who knows Mesa really well, asked his opinion on an ACE 2x12....he highly recommended against a high watt 2x12 combo due to rattles and failures below is a link to a post from John...

General question; Combo as opposed to head?

Probably convenience and cost, the combo is usually only 50 to 100 bucks more than a head but Mesa cabs will set you back at least 3 to 4 hundred bucks for a 1x12 Heads are cool, but the 5:25 was only 50 bucks more in combo lots of great tones come out of that 10 inch speaker and you can...

Lone Star Special, What Extension Cab Should I Order?

I had the 1x12, and added the matching 1x12 and it makes it bigger warmer, but no real tone change I like matching cab with it, but if I still had had it I'd probably swap the speaker just to get a diff dimesion I also had a Bassman, and wired a little harness together so I could hook up the...
