    Reeder Mod #1 Opinion

Thanks for the great post screamingdaisy, well done and very informative! I too agree that you can make both of the channels sound identical, just takes a bit of tweaking. The question I have is why is it such a big deal to some? Mesa does describe channel 2 as a "slightly higher gain clone...

    Lonestar - ohms?

The Lonestar manual does a good job of giving examples of correct and incorrect speaker/cabinet combinations. If you don't have a manual you can get one here: http://www.mesaboogie.com/manuals/Lonestar.pdf

    Post your pedalboard

All this from a simple opinion? I apologize if I have stepped on any toes or insulted anyone. I've gone through a journey that has included the multi-effects route with the XTLive, Tonelab LE going direct, through a DI and through an amp. I've gone the modeling amp route with the Flextone...

Lone Star Reeder Mod #1: Channel 2 Pot-Swap

Thanks djw. I have the drive at 11:00 and the gain at 2:30 with the tone switch set to "thicker". I am finding by having the drive set lower, the distortion is more open to my ears. Adding the LTD really does make it sing! :D

Lone Star Reeder Mod #1: Channel 2 Pot-Swap

I did the Reeder Mod yesterday, it was very easy to do and I am very pleased with the result! IMO it did not change the gain "structure" at all, seems like the same type of overdrive/distortion as before. It just brightened up the channel making it more useable for me with other pickup...

    PRS Query

What I meant is the type of joint is the same, the only difference is one is bolted on the other is glued. Sorry for any confusion.

Mark III, looks like you got it all covered!

    PRS Query

Why is it that some people look down on the PRS CE series over any of their other models? I have owned a 2003 Brazilian McCarty, a 1998 CE-22 and a 2006 CE-24. I have played many other Customs, McCartys and CE's and I absolutely love the feel of the CE's maple neck over any of them. What...

    Is it possible.....

It may sound odd but check the resistance of the shielding paint in the control cavity of your McCarty. I had a similar issue with the stock pickups in my CE-24 and found that there was quite a bit of resistance between the cavity and the pots. I took the controls out, put couple of strips of...

    Delay-true bypass pedal suggestions

I just wanted a simple delay pedal as well but wanted a quality delay. I ended up with the Eventide Timefactor and even though it is a lot more than I thought I needed for delay, I don't regret it for a moment. The ability to run 2 different delay times simultaneously and tap-tempo them...

I like to keep things pretty simple. If I need a bunch of pedals to get my tone, I have the wrong amp

LSC blowing fuses in 100 watt mode only? Any Ideas?

Mine blew a couple of fuses then died completely. Turned out to be a blown screen grid resistor on one of the outside tube circuits. You may have one going out on one of the middle power tubes.

Let's see your "Pig rig" pics (Lonestars)

I'll have to check out the Deja Vibe, I've heard some good things about them. I did away with the S1 switching, the pickups I got were not compatable with it. I believe some of the newer sets can be installed with the S1. I went basically stock strat setup with the exception of putting the...

Let's see your "Pig rig" pics (Lonestars)

Thanks Mark III, it is my opinion that if you need a lot of pedals to get your tone you have the wrong amp  . I did a lot of research, played a few amps and tried numerous pedals getting my setup where it is now. Still not wild about the Phase 90 but I haven't found anything else I like...

Reverb creates noise? Amp noisy in general?

Addressing the low hum you are getting with the reverb, I had the same problem and found the culprit to be the preamp tube in V4. I believe someone in another post mentioned using a Chinese tube in that position and it does eliminate it. If you want to stick with Mesa tubes, keep trying...

lonestar or not to lonestar; that is the question

I have the older version 50/100 LSC 2X12 and absolutely love it! My setup is a Fender American Deluxe Tele with Kinman Broadcasters or an American Deluxe V-Neck Strat with Kinman Blues pickups into a Barber LTD overdrive, Ernie Ball Volume pedal to the front of the amp; an Eventide Timefactor...
