Mark IV v.s. Triple Rec clips inside

Scottm, That's a triple 3 channel. It has quite a bit of EQ on the triple rec recording and also it's not compressed.

Mark IV v.s. Triple Rec clips inside

Hi, Excuse my sloppy playing. Just doing 2 quick takes for the tone testing purposes. Signal: Jackson DKMG-->Mark IV (or Triple Rec)--->Peavy MS412-->audix I5---->Presonus firepod--->Sonar. Audix I-5 was off center and 45 degrees off axis. Both clips are quite mid-rangy. The mark IV's...

Is a Mark IV for me?

I personally think the Mark IV's gain generates the most beautiful tone for leads. I never played a roadking but I did have a dual rec and a triple rec. Both sound too fizzy for leads. I guess roadking is a little smoother but on the same scale. Also mark IV has more gain and sounds excellent...

New video of Petrucci talking about gear (Mk IV)

No they are not! They are talent attenuators since JP's talent usually blows few audiences apart per night. They kind of work like a hotplate. They are made of metal so that heat can radiate more efficiently.

Concerning about the future of Mark Series

Ok, this may be dumb but when people talk about Mesa boogies, the recto series will be the first come to mind. Just look at the very short endorsee list on Mesa boogie website. As the recto series taking over the market, do you believe they will end the Mark Line? i'm a recent convert of the...

    Why no Mk IIC reissues?

AS the market price's been constantly going up and considering this is the holy grail of the Mesa boogie product line, why dont' they put out reissues? Do you believe this is b/c they are manipulating the market by limiting the numbers of MK II's in circulation? All the MK II stock holders will...

    decisions

I personal feel that if you do sell it, you will regret it later on. ( I do this a lot in the past and I always wish i didn't make those decisions. ) Of course this is just my personal opinion though. But still, i haven't heard a better sounding amp than the mark IV.

TRADE: Mark IV Combo 1X12 for Mark IV Head

I just post the same ad looking for a headshell. But i think i find a solution. I contacted my friend and he agrees to build me one. I'll select some cool exotic wood (like those birdseye maple) and make a cool shell. Guess I can make a living by making mark IV headshells since they are of great...

    best speaker for a DC-3 1X12 combo?

I used to own a DC-3 and i run it through my Peavey 4x12. It has no issue pushing it and it sounded descent.

Just traded in my triple Rec for a Mark IV combo and wow!

Thanks buddy. Yes, I did change the tubes after I bought the amp. This crackling problem only happens sometimes and not consistent.

Just traded in my triple Rec for a Mark IV combo and wow!

I had several Mark amps in the past, (DC-3 dual rec, triple rec) and i could never find a good petrucci-ish lead tone. The triple rec doesn't have enough gain for lead and it's kind of clunky. I got this Mark IV wide body combo and plugged it into my cab and it sings! I have the gain level at 8...
