    New Mark II C+

Yeah, I really don't want to mess with it. It sounds really nice. I definitely prefer how it sounds compared to the newer Mesas I've played recently. The newer Mark series amps are great amps too though. I'd love to have a JP2C too for versatility:)

    New Mark II C+

Yea, they are the STR 415s.

    New Mark II C+

Ok all the tube testers I'm finding online are really expensive. I've scrapped that idea.

    New Mark II C+

Ok cool. Thanks for the advice. I worry a bit about taking the amp to a tech, as those guys always seem to want to sell me tubes. I guess I can take it and just ask to only get the caps changed. Is it worth getting a tube tester and making sure they are all within spec? I don't have a sense of...

    New Mark II C+

What should I do as far as getting the amp serviced? I emailed the seller to ask if he thinks the original tubes need to be changed. He says the amp has barely been used so I'm inclined to keep them in. I'm under the impression that tubes don't generally go bad if left mostly unused. It sounds...

Mark I, II, III 15" Combos?

Ok gotcha:) I believe you about the Trem-o-Verb weight. Sometimes it's worth owning gear just to look at and play through at home though.

Mesa Hardwood Family Photo and more (Image Heavy)

That's an awesome collection:) That's pretty incredible that you have a hardwood 15'' C+ combo. I don't think I've even seen a pic of one before.

    New Mark II C+

It's a 1984 60 watt Mark IIC+ graphic EQ combo. No reverb. It's in near-mint condition. Sounds awesome:) Worth the hype in my opinion.

    MK III Controls

It's pretty easy to search for great sounding settings online. I just went through a handfull or so settings and picked a couple that I really liked for various usages. Back in the pre-internet days these amps were a bit more of a hassle to deal with. It really isn't bad now though.

Mark II B or Express 5;50

I'd personally go with the express. I had a Mark IIB years ago and I ended up selling it because it was incredibly heavy and I never really got it to sound the way I wanted....even after I had it serviced. The clean channel sounded pretty good, but I never got the overdrive to sound a way i...

Mark I, II, III 15" Combos?

I had a black tolex 15" Mark IIB maybe 15 years ago or so. It was a cool amp, but it was so heavy that I found myself not using it and I sold it.

    Nice! Mark II?

Boogie Magic - Live vs Recorded

I know what you mean. I think a lot of recording engineers chop the bass off so that the guitar doesn't interfere with the bass guitar and kick drum. That eliminates a lot of the body when you use boogies that don't have a lot of mids. I remember hearing board mixes of the band I was in live...

Mark III vs Mark IV vs Mark V comparison video / poll

I had a really tough time deciding whether to choose the Mark III or Mark IV. I went with the Mark III for it's cool vintagey crunch though.

    Owner's of both JP2C & C+ which get's played more?

Hey, don't mean to hijack the thread here, but I'm looking for a pedal to provide a volume boost for solos in the effects loop of my 60 watt IIC+ 1/12 combo. Do you recommend the MXR micro amp? Does it change the eq of the signal much? Using the overdrive pedals I have set for a clean boost...
