    Electra Dyne vs Royal Atlantic

The video clip of the RA at NAMM briefly pans down to the footswitch. Looks like a two switch version like the ED.
  2. Z

Why isn't everybody talking about the ROYAL ATLANTIC!

If you check the product features on the MESA website they have: "Proprietary Multi-Soak™, Channel Assignable Power Attenuator provides each channel with a 5-position power attenuation switch (-16db, -12db, -8db, -4db & 0db) for Power Ratings ranging from 3 Watts to 100 Watts of Class A/B...

favorite overdrive / boost pedal you use with your LSC

BB preamp. Can be used to add gain or boost. Nice for smooth singing sustain.

    Another Cab Question

I'm curious about this too. By the way, did you see the wine taurus Ace head for sale in the classified section? Pretty nice.

Anyone here think that the Roadster cleans are just as good?

I was looking at the Roadster to see if it would get both Lonestar and Stiletto tones. Seemed like one amp for both would make sense. However, after playing the Roadster a few times, I couldn't dial in the sounds I was looking for. I think the Lonestar cleans are better and the gain on the...

Switching wattage settings on an LSC

I don't know if it's necessary, but when I change wattage, rectifiers or tweed/full power, I"ll put it in standby just to be on the safe side.

Anyone using a strat with their LSC?

I don't have any special settings but I use a Strat with my LSC and it sounds great. It's a Fender American "Fat Strat" with a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates in the bridge and Texas Special single coils in the middle and neck. The neck is definitely one of my favorites as far as blues/blues rock...

    LSC no longer sounds warm

As far as the rectifier tube, it is not used in the 100 watt mode, only in 10/50 watts when rectifier tracking is selected. As for the other tubes running cold, I'll have to check mine to compare but I know when I have the fan running, they never get too hot.

Best amp to compliment an LSC?

I'd like to resurrect this thread. Any other thoughts on this, especially concerning the ED or Stiletto Ace/Deuce?

Ace Combo vs. Head w/ Cab

The Ace combo has a closed back and a V30. The Stiletto cab has a closed back and a V30. I don't think there will be any discernable difference in sound. I don't have a Stiletto but I have a Lonestar head with a 1x12 Lonestar cab and it sounds just like the Lonestar 1x12 combo.

    Price hike has hit...

Just checked Mesa's online store and noticed ED/LSS/Stiletto heads are about $100.00 more and combos about $150.00 more. Check it out.

FS - LSC Head - lower price

I know what you mean about that GAS :) Good luck with the Mark and by the way, I'm originally from Rochester.

FS - LSC Head - lower price

Just curious what happened with the Lonestar. I know you were real happy with it after trading your ED for it. Are you looking for the added channels and features of the Mark 5? Will you still get the Lonestar style clean and chewy leads with the Mark? I've actually kind of gone the same route...

    Cabinet for ED?

The ED headshell should be cooler because the heat will vent/rise up from the chassis rather than in to it like in the combo format. A Lonestar headshell would probably be just as hot as the combo. I don't see why Mesa doesn't just install a fan on the chassis. The have them on the Lonestars.

VIDEO: Lone Star vs Stiletto vs Electra Dyne

Nice comparison. You have to hear them in person though to really get a feel for the differences. I've never played a Stiletto, but I own a Lonestar and have owned an ED. Went with the LSC because of the features, flexibility and the smooth OD, but the ED does have a killer crunch and that tight...

LSS Head EFFECTS LOOP SHORT OR BAD CAPACITOR ??????

Could be dirty contacts on the effects loop jacks. I and others here have had this problem. Some folks use contact cleaner or open the amp and adjust the contacts to make them tighter. In my case, just taking a patch cable and inserting/removing it from the loop jacks several times took care of...

Where To Get Head Cabinet for LSS?

Mesa will probably sell you one, although it may be more expensive than something from a different vendor.

    Just curious...

Thanks for the info. So the 23" combo was fairly comparable to the 2X12? I thought you might lose some of the tight bass response with the more open back.

    LSS vs. Fender Hot Rod

I've had a Hot Rod Deville for a number of years and it's been rock solid as far as reliablity. Nice amp. I did get a LSC which will be replacing the Fender. The Mesa is head and shoulders better although the Fender does have great cleans and reverb. The medium gain sounds with single coils are...
