LSS - have you tried other preamp tubes?

thanks ja22y I stumbled upon the tubes section after I posted this, and there are a lot of threads about tubes in the LSS. I wouldn't mind trying some other pre tubes, and I still have the stock rectifier tube in there. I read some of the other posts about the problem with the rec tube...

LSS - have you tried other preamp tubes?

Hey All, I recently picked up a LSS and digging it. Stock tubes are in there right now, except I had to sub an EH for a broken pre tube that drives the reverb. I used to have a MKIII and found it was very sensitive to pre or power amp tube changes. I'm liking the stock tubes, but just...

Help please my Lonestar Special 2x12 reverb (or lack of...)

I have the 1x12 combo and the reverb is pretty spacious even on lower settings. I'm currently using the warm setting. definitely see if you can take it in to a local service ctr to have it looked at. there is a jack on the bottom of the chassis which can be used to switch the reverb on/off...

Help please my Lonestar Special 2x12 reverb (or lack of...)

hmmm...I was going to suggest checking the pre amp tubes since that was the culprit when I had no reverb. do you notice any change when switching the reverb warm/bright switch. might be a problem there. hopefully, someone more tech-minded will chime in

Why Dosent The Lonestar Special Get any Respect!!!

I recently played one, and really liked the LSS I like the english flavor that the EL-84's provide my ONLY concern with the amp would be clean headroom maybe one of the larger combos or a head/cab would give me the extra I might need sometimes. I'm sure the LSC would give me more than enough.

    LSS vs Express 5:50

Hey All, I'm looking at coming back to Mesa B's again. I previously had a MKIII simulclass head with various cabs, and also a 50/50 power amp. I finally got try out the LSS over the weekend, and was loving it's feel and tones, and SIMPLICITY. My only concern would be not enough clean headroom...
