Mesa 295 for a home audio system??

I've heard of folks using Mesa power amps for home audiophile systems for a few years, but have never seen one in action. Has anyone tried this? This.... http://cgi.ebay.com/Mesa-Boogie-295-Stereo-Power-Amp_W0QQitemZ260060702296QQihZ016QQcategoryZ43374QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ..looks a lot like...

    4x12 Stereo Cabinet Wiring

Thanks for the reply. I got the jacks today, but Mesa didn't send the jack plate. They didn't charge me for it ($7), but hopefully it's on the way. I've got a call in to see what happened. More later.

    4x12 Stereo Cabinet Wiring

I picked up a used Mesa 4x12 from GC, the wired grill one from the '80s. It has a mono jack, and Mesa is sending me a stereo jack like this: http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Guitar%20Cabinets/4x12-JackplateLG.htm Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this? Mesa says they don't, although...

    Stereo Jack Plate Needed

I'm going to pick up an old grill front Mesa 4x12 cabinet from a local GC, but it has a mono jack. Can you all point me to a place that has stereo jack plates? I'm sure Mesa would sell a new stereo jack plate to me, but I just want to save a buck. Wiring diagrams would also be helpful. Thanks in...

Is The Stilleto Ace Right For Me? First Post...

The only thing better than the Stilleto Ace combo is the head version with an open backed cab. Incredible cleans. That's why I like the Recto 2x12 cabs; you can switch between open back and closed back at will.

    Road King 2, v. 2?

Thanks. I was looking for the date, but it was much smaller than I thought. I have yet to play the RK2, but the Roadster's clean channel is outstanding. Assuming it's the same clean channel for the RK2, I might pick up one of these up some time soon.

    Road King 2, v. 2?

I went to download the Road King 2 manual, and there are now Road King 2 v.1 and v.2 manuals. Does anyone know what the updates are? http://mesaboogie.com/manuals/user_manuals.htm

Trading my Roadster in for a Roadking ..

I did the tube swap thing with my Trem-O-Verb several times as well. RKII is the answer.

Making a Tremoverb sound more vintage?

The cleans on my TOV head were excellent, but I didn't have a lot of clean headroom. If you really liked the Deville, you will be a lot closer to home with the F-100. Excellent cleans and excellent blues tones.

    Nomad vs. TOV vs. Rectoverb???

I've played about four Nomad 100s in my area, and I've really liked each one. That is very unusual for Boogies. I had to try five RK Series I amps before I found one I liked. My best combination would be the Nomad 100 with EL34s, closed back cabinet. With an open back you will get much better...

v-twin capable of rectifier/mark IV sounds?

Hi, Russ Getting a Recto really is the solution. If you want to save a buck and get really awesome cleans, get the Rect-O-Verb series II head. I currently have a V-Twin, and have owned a Trem-O-Verb and DC-5. The V-Twin does not do Recto, but it gets really close when you use the power amp...

Soon to be Mark III owner, few questions.

You should also check ebay for used Avatar cabs. They are really nice. Personally, I plan on getting an Ear Candy 2x12 cab.

Recommend me a good footswitch for the Triaxis.

I'm using a Yamaha midi switcher. It only has 5 channels, but it was only $2.97 at one of the Guitar Center blowout deals. If you have a large GC in your area, you can definitely save a buck with their used stuff. After a couple of gigs, I plan on getting the latest Behringer controller.

triaxis users.. prefer phat mod? or no phat mod?

Yes. I plugged mine into the FX loop of my Fender Prosonic. It was pretty wonderful for high gain, but I didn't figure out the clean stuff. I know a few folks that have also plugged it into the FX loop of Marshall heads with very good results.

Sorry, I've been so busy I haven't had time to pull my Triaxis apart. I will post pix as soon as I get them.

Great idea! I wish I had thought of that earlier. I've got to get some sleep, but I will have it opened with its guts out by Monday.

    I Need a Trem-O-Verb mod

Good advice. Thanks. I will call Mesa and ask about it.

    I Need a Trem-O-Verb mod

Voodooamps may be able to help. However, I want to do the mod myself. I'm handy with a soldering iron, and if all else fails, I can ship it back to MB.

    I Need a Trem-O-Verb mod

I sold my T-verb a while ago, and now I'm going to buy another one. The only problem with it was that it didn't have enough clean headroom for me. Can anyone here point me in the direction of modding the clean channel for more clean headroom?

triaxis users.. prefer phat mod? or no phat mod?

It's kind of a bummer now that I know I cannot get the Recto sound out of it. My Triaxis left the factory in August 2005, so it's the latest version. Got it used at GC. However, the inner volume knob is a push/pull. I haven't had time to fire it up all week, but this weekend I'll figure out...
