So weird. To me, the crackling and volume fluctuation kind of smells like power tube failure. Have you tried moving the voice coil manually by gently pushing on the cone? If the speaker is blown, the voice coil will rub and make noise

The volume taper on these things is ludicrous. I have a 1 x 12, which is useable, but I found a torpedo live is the best solution to tame the beast!!

I have a Torpedo Live which I use in specific situations. i.e. quiet practicing, recording, and playing in volume sensitive situations. It does not replace a cab but it drastically increases the versatility of a 100watt tube head.

The Electra Dyne is too bassy and the bass comes up as the volume comes up. I think the solution is to turn the bass down until it gets to where it needs to be. The standard cab is more scooped with more highs and lows. It is a bit loose or ‘saggy’ and can sound a bit boxy. The traditional...

My student has EL-34s in his Electra Dyne and he has a 2 x 12 Rectocab. It sounds absolutely killer and I really love it. The clean is still very good.

Gorgeous!!! I used to have the Dual version of this but someone head hunted me for it at the forums here!! I dig my ReVv Generator 120 but these amps are unique and really special. Stick a TS9 in front of it and enjoy it!!!
