Considering Electra Dyne, looking for advice.

I have much to say about this amp, especially in regards to the conversations talking about bright vs dark, excess bass, etc. I had my Electra Dyne out for the first time since the pandemic / lockdowns hit. (I've been recording in the meanwhile) I've gotten so used to recording and playing...

Considering Electra Dyne, looking for advice.

It is such a great amp. I use it a lot for classic rock and blues tones!!! It is also great for jazz! It does have tonnes of bass but that is why there is a bass knob!

More Epic - Mark V content

Hi everyone, I've not been around much. I've been spending a lot of time learning about recording and mixing. Here is a project that my friend hired me to work on. He wrote the rhythm guitar part. I wrote the lead guitar and bass parts. I recorded the rhythm and lead guitar as well as the...

    ED Vintage Lo Question

I have been getting amazing tones with my S S S Fender Strat into my 'Dyne on vintage lo. It's such an amazing amp!

    NGD

Mexican Fender Strat sunburst / rosewood board S S S from a friend of mine. Cool guitar and very different than the other axes I have. This thing is blues personified. I wanted to get something for recording that was way different than my usual fare of high output, contemporary voiced...

Just discovered the Electra Dyne. Wow!

Have you DL'd and installed the firmware update for the torpedo live? I like the Britgreen IR and the Greentri IR for greenback tones. I have the Celestion Greenback IR as well but I haven't gotten the same results with it. My other IRs are a couple of REVV IRs, a Celestion with Alnico Blue...

    A new ElectraDyne owner

This is one of the craziest, most amazing obscure mesa boogie ever. It's so amazingly expressive! Have fun with it!!

Electra dyne big issue with speakers blowing out

So weird. To me, the crackling and volume fluctuation kind of smells like power tube failure. Have you tried moving the voice coil manually by gently pushing on the cone? If the speaker is blown, the voice coil will rub and make noise

    Electra Dyne Volume Taper

The volume taper on these things is ludicrous. I have a 1 x 12, which is useable, but I found a torpedo live is the best solution to tame the beast!!

Electra Dyne Short Punk Rock Riff Demo

https://youtu.be/97juia7do7w I put this together for the Bare Knuckle Pickup crowd. I just thing this Les Paul into an electra dyne is pretty much the perfect punk tone. I'm using my torpedo live as well, which is a great monitoring and recording option. Torpedo Studio is way better but much...

Has anyone ditched their cab for a FRFR and IR setup?

I have a Torpedo Live which I use in specific situations. i.e. quiet practicing, recording, and playing in volume sensitive situations. It does not replace a cab but it drastically increases the versatility of a 100watt tube head.

Electra Dyne + 4x12: which one?

The Electra Dyne is too bassy and the bass comes up as the volume comes up. I think the solution is to turn the bass down until it gets to where it needs to be. The standard cab is more scooped with more highs and lows. It is a bit loose or ‘saggy’ and can sound a bit boxy. The traditional...

My experience with EL34's in the Electra Dyne

My student has EL-34s in his Electra Dyne and he has a 2 x 12 Rectocab. It sounds absolutely killer and I really love it. The clean is still very good.

1993 Mesa Rev F. Triple Rec.

Gorgeous!!! I used to have the Dual version of this but someone head hunted me for it at the forums here!! I dig my ReVv Generator 120 but these amps are unique and really special. Stick a TS9 in front of it and enjoy it!!!
