    work with the gain level and your hand technique - the f-30 has one of the best drive ranges of all of the low watt boogies IMO. I get killer warm OD on the clean with a gain at 12 o'clock, and of course the crunch channel (2) at around 8 or 9 o'clock. of course your pickups will vary this...

    F-50 vs Express 5:50

    I think they're both pretty close on tone and circuits, though the 5:50 has more switching for the contour and of course you can dial the contour freq. I'm looking for an F-50 myself - I play a F-30 religiously and just need a little more head room for some larger gigs.

    yeah, thought this one was over... I learned to tame the Mk IIC+ with the vol controls. Never did try attenuation, and still don't use it.

    Most of us just mark the subject as "please delete - sold" (or something like it) and the admin will clean it up when he gets a chance. If he can't get at it, then others now it's sold by reading the subject.

    How to change tubes on an F-30

    One bit of advice for any new F-30 owner is that EL84 tubes do have a shorter 'sweet' life than bigger bottles like 6L6 or EL34s. I recommend replacements for the power tubes every 7-9 months. YMMV...

    Reverb problem

    sometimes the jack breaks on the connecting cable when you swap out the tanks. Did you test continuity on the cable ends?
