Can the Mark V effects loop be controlled externally?

Yes, there are many options and I LOVE that about the Marl V and the Mark IV for that matter. I use an old Rockman Midi Octopus. Used it on my Mark IV before I got the Mark V and just made the transfer when the Mark V arrived. Now I can control switching, loop, EQ, Solo from my midi foot...

gain question about the mark v

I have to say I don't agree with this. Mark IV's and Mark V's both need increased treble settings to get higher gain. I do agree with Adam about the mids also...bringing the mids up will help to fill the space left by the scooped EQ setting. Try the suggestions here and let us know what you...

    Mark V vs Lonestar Classic

Just posted about this in another thread. I tried the hard bypass and adjusted the amp, not super loud, but without EQ sliders. Then re-engaged the loop and needed to increase the output knob to about 12 o'clock to match the volume. It feels so nice...as Danjel said, rounder tone, very touch...

Huge jump in volume with effects loop off

I did this today, it was awesome! It felt like there was also a change in the overall tone of the amp. I mean, I had settings from "loop active" and then not only did the volume increase, I also needed to switch a few settings. So, I set it up that way and kept the channel masters down, not...

Axe FX Ultra + Mark V

Hey guys, I have been using the Axe with my Mark V for a while. I have also used the Axe straight in to the PA, and honestly...it is really cool and there are really no downsides to using it either way, it's just different. I have been using the 4-cable method to hook up the Axe to the Mark V...

Congratulations!!! Welcome to the world of Boogie!!!! Glad you are diggin' it!! I am liking the tones and the way the Mark V sits in the mix. I am in a 5 piece band, 2 guitars, keys, bass, drums and the other guitarist has a Mesa Lonestar. You just gotta love the complimentary tones and the...

    AXE FXers please chime in......

OK, I have 2 Mark IV's, a Mark V and a Studio 22+. I also have an Axe FX Ultra. I have run the gambit, from Mark IV's as my main rig with a pair of 4X12 Marshall cabinets, then down to a single 2X12 EarCandy cab. Also, played the Mark IV with a TC Electronics G System for effects and...

Anyone have some playing time with both 6L6 and EL34's?

Just wanted to thank Lester and Joey for their contributions here!! I don't have the $$ to swap out my tubes very often. So, I greatly appreciate the time, effort and $$ that it takes to write good reviews of the tube swapping play :D I love hearing what you find out when you try say 3...

    Mark V accessories

What has been mentioned is useful. Also, remember, there are a variety of cables and their quality varies as well. Personally, I buy the best cable I can afford, whether that be instrument or speaker!! I want the most clear signal transfer and NO NOISE!! You may even try a couple different...

New Amp(Mark IV), First Post/new member, and I need help!!!

Just realized yo have 2 posts going on the same subject. Anyway, the Pentode/Triode switch regulates power or voltage to the tubes. It may be that your cracked/broken tube is fine when running at the Triode level, however becomes an issue when the voltage is stepped up. Weird yes, yet not...

New Amp(Mark IV), First Post/new member, and I need help!!!

OK Teneacious...I misspoke earlier. The Simul/Class A switch is the tube selection. The Triode/Pentode is the a power regulation switch, where Pentode has more power and a harder clip and Triode gives a bit more of that spongy/sweet feel. So, you could run it in Class A and conceivably be...

New Amp(Mark IV), First Post/new member, and I need help!!!

+1 on the almost guaranteed probability of it being a power tube issue. The Triode/Pentode switch effects the power tubes and how they are or aren't running. Pentode runs all your power tubes, so if that's when you are having problems, you can almost positively say it's a power tube problem...
