I never use the reverb on my Mark IV, is it safe to run the mark iv without the reverb tank attached?

I want to convert my Mark IVa combo into a head I can't find a place to by a head shell for it. I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get one for it. Does Mesa still sell them? Or is it possible to use a Mark V head shell for it? If not do I have any other options? Thanks in advance.

The mark iv's recording out is pretty bad imo. The smaller mark v's have both headphone out and the mesa cabclone built which sound be MUCH better sounding. They have more features in general, but it depends what you want, I have heard cleans are about even with the mark iv, channel 2 is...

Alright so I was doing so research on the preamp tubes, and in the A version that I have, apparently, the reverb has a different tube type (12at7) than the other slots, I didn't know that before hand (I just assumed they were all 12ax7) and I had it in the wrong slot so that seems to have helped...
