Who is running EL34s in their V:90s?

Get the feeling you, like me, prefer a bit of squish rather than all out accuracy and EL34's definitely gave me that. Glad I could be of help and hope you enjoy as much as I did 🤘

    Mesa MarkV / Saturation 'mod'

Hi, Early adopter of this here. Great thread this and really helped me get the most out of my V90. Can't remember the brand of 12AT7's I have in mine but they are for sure not Jan Philips and my results were the same as expected so I don't think the brand is anywhere near as influential as the...

Who is running EL34s in their V:90s?

I preferred the EL34's in my V90. I currently have 6L6's installed because I'm only playing once a week at a predominantly unplugged acoustic jam playing mainly 50's and 60's rock n roll so as you can imagine I'm running very low volume so figured I would save putting the miles on the EL34's...

What are the other settings, power 10 45 or 90, tube or silicon rectifier etc?

    Mesa MarkV / Saturation 'mod'

Hi, Very, very long story short, 12at7 in v4 (and to my ears with my amp also in v7, I do seem to be one of very few with this though) will tame the harshness and allow much more usable sweep from the controls. Added girth and tightness minus the ear ache. Lots of experimenting and comparing...

The Mark V90, Longest running Mark Series to date

Nothing to feel bad about, was my oversight, not yours. I had a lot of fun along the way also. I think I get just as much enjoyment out of tinkering with things as i do using them. Virtually nothing of mine is as standard 😉 yeah maybe might be able to squeeze a sneaky hour in playing the V when...

The Mark V90, Longest running Mark Series to date

Hi Bandit, you may not remember but I was the one who forgot to replace the ribbon cable and blew the JFET. Good to see you back on here. First look on here myself for a few years, been ultra busy with wife, kids, moving house, work etc. Haven't plugged in the Mark V for a few years and only...

    Mark5 Footswitch schematic

Cool, works well, dunno if I'd trust it on stage though 😉

    Mark5 Footswitch schematic

Sure there's a pinout for the footswitxh connection on the board here somewhere? Worth a look if that might help.

Mark V 90W - Reverb Noise with Loop Hardbypass

You get it sorted? Try the reverb send tube, forget which one off of top of head, probably v5 maybe?

Crunch and Edge with the same settings

Nice. One thing the Mark V does do very well is bring through the individual guitars characteristics.

Why can't I see posts or responses by APEMAN?

Yeah some very good info in all those pages. Helped me a lot!

Do you boost your Mark V?

I boost or fuzz over ch1 and ch2 as and when required. Not on ch3 though. But then I run EMG's at 18v though.

    Clean Channel...removing bright cap?

Interesting, did you stick with the mod? How about the drive preset?
