Tubes to brighten up my Mark IV

I was facing the same issues . . . my IV is really dark also . . . tried different speakers, pre amp tubes and so forth . . . the only thing that really worked was using EL34s . . . from now on my IV will only see EL34s in the outer sockets.

Does a cab itself really matter?

IMO you should not overlook a 1x12 thiele cab . . . they have great bass response, tight (exactly what you want), good portability and sounds wonderfull, THE perfect match for any Mark series amp. and you will not have problems find one used in a great condition for usd 300-ish. If you found...

    resurrecting a DC3 (a.k.a. C.S.I. Dc3)

    Which Mesa for me?

IMO you should take a loot at the Stiletto series as well. i understand your arm issue, so maybe an ACE combo will fit your bill (1x12 combo version). it does the AC/DC tones in spades and more!! you can get those used in a very good condition for 700-900usd

    An idea for Mesa

+1000 I simply can not use the fx loop on my stiletto. the tone sucking is soooo bad that soon i turn it on the wonderfull tone goes away . . .

Mark V:35 Say WHAT?!?! Short Head and 1x12 combo

After all that reading it got me wondering . . . do i have to think that a 84' IIC+, a 74' Plexi or even more, a 59' Les Paul is obsolete ???? . . . Man, I would love to have an obsolete 1960 Porsche Abarth 356B Carrera GTL in my garage . . .

    Help me Choosing my IIC

Thanks a lot Guys!!!! 8) 8) For example, the way that the IIC effects loop was implemented is definitely crappy when used with the lead channel. It comes in a very weird spot in the circuit signal path. In my opinion, it really messes up how the gain stages are cascaded in the lead channel...

    Help me Choosing my IIC

Yeah, im leaning towards the IIC and then do the + mod . . . although the guy said that the IIC+ original "core" tone is really better than the IIc version . . . and the loop is way clearer.
