Adding a 1x12 to the Rectoverb 25 combo: speaker?

Did you ever get a cab? I’ve got a R25 combo and might get a 1x12 to go with it. Thing is, I love the amp with the stock Fillmore speaker (what a great speaker!) but not so much with my Recto 2x12. I’m thinking C90, maybe....

Electra Dyne + 4x12: which one?

OP here. Just following up that I did find a Traditional Mesa 4x12 cab and it sounds incredible with the E Dyne!

Electra Dyne + 4x12: which one?

Great info, thanks! I’d love to find a used Traditional, but I’ve never seen one around here. Do you think a slant oversized would still be too bassy?

Electra Dyne + 4x12: which one?

Well, thanks for all the help. 8)

Electra Dyne + 4x12: which one?

Anyone using their Electra Dyne head with a Mesa 4x12? If so, Standard or Traditional? I’m wanting to pick one up used, but there’s only ever the Standard/oversized ones locally, never any Traditional ones available. But with the ample bottom end of the Dyne, especially with my LP, I’m...

Mark V:35 - too quite for drummer

How big is the rehearsal space? I've found that 30-40W amps, even Mesas, don't cut it in a large room.

Is Mesa going to replace Royal Atlantic / Electra Dyne cabs?

Anyone know if there are plans to replace this line of cabinets? I'd like to try the 2x12 with my Electra Dyne head; mostly because it's open-back but not as open-back as the Lone Star cabs. (Doesn't seem like the Triple Crown is going to get its own cab line...)

So, what amps do you own?

Marshall Vintage Modern 2466 + 1960BX Mesa Electra Dyne head + Recto 2x12 Marshall JTM1C

Stiletto newb looking for tone tips

Also, my EQ is pretty close to screamingdaisy's, which is generally how I set up a JCM800: bass at 3 o'clock, mid at 10, treble at 10-11, presence 9.

Stiletto newb looking for tone tips

Killer looking setup with the Les Paul! Very nice. I just bought a Deuce and the same Recto cab, and also play a Les Paul. What an amazing sounding and feeling amp! I'm mainly using Crunch on Ch 1 and Tite on Ch 2, Bold mode with tube rectification both channels. Here's a few things I've...

Late to the party: New RA100 combo owner

I took the wheels off the RA100 this week at practice: what a difference! Bigger, warmer bottom end and less in-your-face mids. It also shook my feet and was more fun in general. Will be doing that all the time now. I've also fallen back in love with Vintage Lo. Just had to up the Bass and...

Thanks! I use an EP Booster too, as an always-on pedal at the start of my board (after an EVH wah). It does sound great on the clean channel. Do you use any pedals as a lead boost or for more gain/flavour? If so, which ones? (I've found my MXR CBMOD works really well but my Keeley Fuzz Head...

Late to the party: New RA100 combo owner

Yes, the first gain stage does seem to be super sensitive. Works well with the CBMOD, but the Fuzz Head just seems to overload it or something, no matter how I set it. I'm finding other threads where the RA is described as being pretty fussy with OD/boosts, in general. I just prefer the sound...

Late to the party: New RA100 combo owner

Thanks! It's certainly an amazing amp. Very cool that you own the half stack and the combo! I'll keep the preamp tube change in mind when the warranty's up. Have you found any certain boosts that work with Hi mode well? My MXR CBMOD sounds amazing with it, but my Keeley Fuzz Head, not so...

Late to the party: New RA100 combo owner

I should clarify - I'm not looking for any more bottom end, now that I'm using Hi mode for my main sound. It's got plenty for the blues rock and classic rock we play. It was just when I was trying to get Vintage Lo to be my main sound that I found it lacking. I'm good to go with the RA100...
