    Attenuator for 150w Triple Rect?

Don't forget that you also have the send-level control on the back of the amp. It still attenuates the signal even when there is nothing in the loop. It will not do so if you have the entire loop bypassed via the rotary knob on the back that controls loop assignment, in which case the output...

Wanted Looking for a Mesa Boogie Trem-O-Verb Head

    Modded triple rectifier fx loop

Yes the above post is correct. If done properly you will have full signal even with no cable/pedals in the loop. You should still have full function of the loop's rotary selections on back, and also normal function of footswitching. The effects send always is an additional volume control, unless...

2-channel Dual Rectifier Rev. G - Parallel to Series Loop modification

All of mine were done by a nearby mesa-authorized warranty tech. He used their schematic so I assume it is the same as you're saying. Lossless Serial Effects Loop was how Mesa originally advertised them iirc,,,and then they went to the parallel shortly thereafter. Nothing wrong with parallel if...

Mesa Color Code Plate Current Values (420 vs 440)

The whole mesa color-code spectrum resides in a fairly narrow range that matches their fixed-bias system. Any of their 6L6 tubes of any color will work fine. The colors are to ensure that pairs are reasonably balanced. You can run a pair of reds in the inner slots and a pair of whites in the...

    Mesa el34 str448

Nesstone is super solid. I snagged a small stockpile of 420 coke bottles and the old mesa chinese 12ax7s from the 90s. I was lucky to do it just before the world's tube prices went crazy. Old school prices! Btw, nesstone is located in Mesa's backyard, which might explain the access.

2-channel Dual Rectifier Rev. G - Parallel to Series Loop modification

I have several that are series-loop modded the OG mesa "lossless" way, like their original rectifiers were for a couple years. The only difference is we decided on a "send-level bypass" mini-toggle to replace the mix pot. This way you have the option of removing the send-level attenuator while...

Sweetwater is showing "new" mesa tubes

When I think of reds and yellows it makes me think "warm", but in the mesa code system they are actually the "coolest" or "latest" breakup. Whites are a "cooler" color, hence "cool white" bulbs at a lighting store. In the mesa code system whites are the "warmest" bias which is why the breakup...

Rectifier thread is sleeping. Wake up!

I've been boosting a lot lately with the maxon st9pro+. My recto collection is a 95 dual, 99 tremo, 08 single, and 2011 triple mw.

Sweetwater is showing "new" mesa tubes

IMO they have always coded their tubes the opposite of how it should be. Reds and yellows run the coolest(bias) , but those are "warmer" colors. Whites and grays run the warmest(bias), but those are "cooler" colors. Just nitpicking! I really like the combo of 440 and 420 together in rectifiers.

Can anyone help me date this Recto 4x12?

It would be around 2008ish Mine is from 2011 in the 69,000s

Recto Reborn - Vintage mode - Channel 2

I like orange channel better than red in all the modes. Perhaps it's just a better match with my already compressed pickups. (emg, x2n, DB, ect,) Also if not running a boost I might pick red channel for the additional focus, depending on the rest of the rig.

Which big recto sounds like my Mini Rec?

The series2 single with the str447 (el34) tubes might get you in the same ballpark. Running the mini with a bigger cab would also be a good option for beef'n it up some.

    Metallica speakers

IMO they certainly "sound" like t75 cabs on the old albums. If I were wanting to copy their 80's tones that's exactly what I'd use.

New Single Rectifier vs. my old Tremoverb and...

I love my single series2, but would reeaally love it if it had a tube rectifier also. I almost never run diode on my other mesas. With a boost in front it turns into a beastly metal amp.
