Advice on Dual Recto Trem-O-Verb combo

I can't say I know what all the fuss is about. I have two Tremoverb combos. If I want to play quietly I turn it down. Dial in your tone, turn down the volume. If tone changes enough to warrant tone stack adjustments, then by all means do so. When you can/want to play loud. Turn it up, again...

    Tremoverb, Running HOT Power Tubes

I can't f'n wait man. I have my eyes on a Metro Plex, or a Bray, or a Landry next. Then maybe a vintage fender for super pristine cleans. Time to get a second job...LOL!

    Tremoverb, Running HOT Power Tubes

Yes, I have abandoned the idea of hot tubes. I pretty much have exhausted my tone search for the Tremoverb. It does what it does flawlessly and to perfection. I have it tight, clean and very close to vintage, but hey it is a recto. My sights are on a plexi with an attenuation device to...

    Tremoverb, Running HOT Power Tubes

O.K., all good points. I plan to test this Saturday. Remember, I play loud, use a clean boost, clone to orange on the gain channel, and tone shape with a parametric eq in the loop. The eq in the loop cuts 200Hz by 4db, increases 100 Hz by 4db and sort of shelves 1-5 KHz, oh and in the front...

    Tremoverb, Running HOT Power Tubes

Stephen, can you elaborate. For example I read that power tube break up is easily confused with PI break up. I don't pretend to know that for sure...just what I read on the Marshall forum. I thought that by pulling two tubes, it would work the other two harder and therefore make them break up...

    Tremoverb, Running HOT Power Tubes

I went ahead and switched to spongy from bold. It allowed me to increase the master volume a little bit, which I assume further engages the power section. I have to say, it did improve my tone. It sounds really good. I am able to max the guitar volume pot for a great classic rock tone and...

    Thanks, I will try that.

    Tremoverb, Running HOT Power Tubes

I don't pretend to know much about this, but: Normally Mesa runs the power tubes cold or cold power tube or something to do with the bias...resulting in a very clean power section, where all gain is from the preamp. I wondered, what if I ran HOT power tubes or tubes that don't run cold. Would...

Programmable Graphic EQ for Guitar Rig

Hey Chris...I have another update for you. But more importantly...is your book available? Just let me know if it happens, as I am looking forward to buying it. Let me get some things together and I will post the update. Plus...I want to give this post some time to see if anyone is even...

    Help with settings on Tremoverb...

I have two Tremoverbs and run them in stereo, while using Strymon stereo pedals in the loop. To get the cleans as clean as I want them and keep rehearsal volume levels at a good usable point (loud), I set both channels to be level with each other and then use the Loop Active Master (LAM) to...

    NOS 12ax7's in Rectos??

I am working on getting my two Tremoverbs to have a tighter attack or something similar to what the plexi attack is or check out Henric Hermansson and his work and you will see what I mean. I thought the silicon diode was the ticket for that and not rectifier tubes...am I on the right track...

Feedback/oscillation in FX loop 2Ch Dual Recto

Good for you...glad you worked it out.

Feedback/oscillation in FX loop 2Ch Dual Recto

Well, you hit all the points. SD to rule out Rectifier tubes. New Power tubes. I am not sure what to think... What about the send level? How does this affect the problem. If you are serial then the mix pot is out of the picture. This is perplexing.

Feedback/oscillation in FX loop 2Ch Dual Recto

To troubleshoot the radio noise, I would use knowingly good tubes and start at the beginning, by swapping one at a time. If this does not work, you might want to consider cleaning the pots, but I highly doubt that is your problem. My normal PM for my amps are to remove all tubes and use...
