I can't say I know what all the fuss is about. I have two Tremoverb combos. If I want to play quietly I turn it down. Dial in your tone, turn down the volume. If tone changes enough to warrant tone stack adjustments, then by all means do so. When you can/want to play loud. Turn it up, again...

I am working on getting my two Tremoverbs to have a tighter attack or something similar to what the plexi attack is or check out Henric Hermansson and his work and you will see what I mean. I thought the silicon diode was the ticket for that and not rectifier tubes...am I on the right track...

Well, you hit all the points. SD to rule out Rectifier tubes. New Power tubes. I am not sure what to think... What about the send level? How does this affect the problem. If you are serial then the mix pot is out of the picture. This is perplexing.

To troubleshoot the radio noise, I would use knowingly good tubes and start at the beginning, by swapping one at a time. If this does not work, you might want to consider cleaning the pots, but I highly doubt that is your problem. My normal PM for my amps are to remove all tubes and use...
