I'm not a Recto guy myself, but the tone you're looking for doesn't sound like what the Dual Rectifier alone can't achieve. I suggest you get rid of the multi effect, and read up the manual to get acquainted with channel 2 and 3. Most probably you'll need some kind of boost pedal to tighten up...

Mark III absolutely. You may not want your Mark IV back.

Hetfield's IIC+'s are modified for more gain (++ mod). That's why he sets his gain so low.
