Is there any difference between IIC+ 60W and 60/100W?

My advice is to go for it. A C+ with GEQ is not easy to get. Regarding 60w vs 100 is headroom, which you can experience if you have both, the 60 has enough power, and gain is all in the preamp section. The sound of a 100 vs 60 is very much alike, but the simuls sound brighter. I usually gig and...

Look at 'em there, pretty maids all in a row.

Now look at that. The best powertubes ever. I remember when I first got to this forum, and read about the Sylvanias my curiosity took over and I had to give them a go. Which ended in the conclusion: Sylvania's vs everything else. The difference IS that big. I've seen both single and dual...

Mesa/Boogie RecRecPre Demonstration – “Recording Direct"

Yeah, I've been following the H9000 progress with huge interest, and I've been saving for it all the way. Though I will not sell the H8000 if I get another "tide". I have a H9 in my live setup as well as the only FX unit, so I'm a big fan of Eventide units. Unfortunately my recording gear is a...

Mesa/Boogie RecRecPre Demonstration – “Recording Direct"

Long time since I read this part of the forum, anyway. Actually I dialed in the RRP for the modern mode and used that on all the modes on the demo, I probably wouldn't do that when I tweak for the desired sound on the other modes. But I always boost it someway, I feel like it needs a low cut...

    MKIIc+ Tubes

As long as the 415 works, age doesn't matter, they're probably better than anything you can buy, and as Joey says as well. the 416 is also the best EL34 in my experience. Other tubes just doesn't come close.

    IIC+ footswitching not working.

Almost certain that it's just a bad soldering, but I cannot tell for sure, any local tech will find out. But sending it to Petaluma will add a complete healthcheck by the MAN himself. Might cost you some extra but the amp will benefit for it.

    New Mark II C+

Just tell the tech not to replace the powertubes. If they sound good, they work, simple as that. Are they branded Mesa STR415? FYI they are Sylvanias.

    New Mark II C+

If your powertubes are the STR415 and working, keep them, whatever you do, no tubes will sound as good. For the preamptubes there are a lot of opinions. You will definitely benefit for a cap replacement. Caps will dry out if they are not in use and the big ones in there are said to be good for...

    MK III Controls

Just as the quote. The biggest mistake non-Mesa players do when dialing or try to dial in a mesa is that the bass control is too high. On a mark series the rule is as this, the more gain the less bass. If you use a lot of gain, you can start with the bass on "0" and then raise it as much as you...

    MKIIC+ Export

It's the other way around George. The PT(power transformer) is the one that's different. The OT is identical in the domestic/export, obviously different in the 100 and simul and 60. My PT's are X101 on both simul IIC+'s and my black dot Mark III. The 60w C+ has the X62.

Mesa/Boogie RecRecPre Demonstration – “Recording Direct"

Just did a quick demo of the Rectopre with Boss GEQ7 (it's a bit noisy but you get the idea) and the Torpedo Live. https://youtu.be/nVpQbyKxDSA
