I love my Express’s. I think that they’re the best amps ever.
I’ve had all kinds of new and vintage Marshall’s and Fenders and various other things, but to me the Express’s beat them all.
I have a 5:25+ and a 5:50 non plus.
When I turn the standby switch on to power down, it makes a loud pop. Is this normal for it ? It doesn’t always do it and sometimes it’s not very loud and sometimes it’s really loud.
It also buzzes a little bit until I touch the the guitar strings, then it’ll stop. Maybe that’s normal also. I...

I just play at home. I’m thinking about adding one more but I’m not sure what yet. Maybe a Rectoverb or an older Mark.
Is there a good way to tell if your amp is ready for news caps ? Other than something really breaking or leaking. I bought a Subway Blues, probably around a1998 model and curious to know when it’ll be time for a service and change of them. Will tone suffer ?
I’m new here, but I also just a dc2 about a week ago. Still trying to figure it out. I really like it so far. It runs really hot.. I hope that’s normal. I believe it still has the stock tubes in it. I’m looking to by some replacements soon.
