It's a good idea but you can already make a 3 channel dual rectifier 50 watts by pulling 2 power tubes.

If you like it then leave it alone. Plus reliced guitars seem to be all the rage these days.

On a dual you can pull tubes to make it 50 watts because the ohm rating goes down evenly. On a triple when you pull the tubes the ohm rating is changing by 1/3 instead of 1/2 like on a dual.

He just said pulling tubes on a triple was a bad idea period for both pulling to 50 and 100 watts.

I asked my local amp tech about this last time I had my triple in for service and he said it was a bad idea because it puts an odd ohm load on the output transformer.
