Sweetwater is showing "new" mesa tubes

$100 for 2 tubes? And for the guy who said HIS tubes cost the same....not a realistic viewpoint. I just paid $106 for a set of 4 EL84's that used to cost $40

Rectoverb 25 - How to get the Reverb Tank out

Hey guys...little surprised at the lack of responses??? But I was able to work the tank out (had to separate it from the plywood backing. One of the wires had gotten loose and had to be re-soldered. All is good!!!

Rectoverb 50 vs Modern rectoverb 25

I remember loving the 50 and thinking 2 things...the clean channel was a little dry and the amp was WAYYYYY too heavy weight wise. When I first tried the mini-rec, I was taken back by how good the gain sounded, especially at lower volumes. The clean channel felt more alive as well. There's no...

Rectoverb 25 - Reverb Footswicth question

Trying to troubleshoot my reverb issue and was curious if: a - the supplied footswitch works with the reverb (listed as Ext Reverb on the back panel) b - if it does, should the light go on and off? (it stays off)

Rectoverb 25 - How to get the Reverb Tank out

Hey guys, just picked up a rec 25 and the reverb doesn't work. Suggestions were to check the reverb tank and check the V6 tube. Didn't have a good 12AX7 laying around so I thought I'd see if the reverb was connected correctly. Having a heck of a time trying to get it out...any tips? Raz

Loss of Power and 5 Watt mode distorted

Hey guys...have an express 5:50 1x12 combo and the title says it all. In 5 watt mode the amp is distorted and has nearly no volume. The 50 watt mode sounds okay but isn't overly loud at half volume..although it is relatievly loud. I tried 2 sets of power tubes with no luck. I will say that...

    Trem O Verb tube favorites?

I just put in what is supposed to be a relatively new set into my Rectoverb and didn't care for the amount of saturation compared to the STR454's. The bottom was there, the cleans were better and the tone was fine (Tighter)....it just didn't give me a liquid sustainy lead tone like I was used to...

F-50 vs. Rectoverb vs. Stiletto Duece

The F-50 cleans were better than the Rectoverb but the gain channel was a no-contest in the other direction. If gain is more important (which it is for me) the ROV combo was better. And it's not necessarily the amount of gain, just the texture and fullness.

Loud Pop when switching from Standby

Hey guys, All of a sudden my Rectoverb is making a loud POP when I switch from standby to the on position . At first I thought it was my delay unit but I removed everything except guitar to amp and the noise still exists. There are times it does it when I switch TO standby but it always makes...

    Out of Production amps

You might think that's silly but I'd wager that 100 watters are by far the worst selling combo amps. Especially these days when sound men prefer low stage volumes.

    rect-o-verb

here's a thread about the mod. http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?p=82589&sid=03e942ff9ffbff9d0af59c13f70f6961 In particular a comment made by someone who had the mod done to his amp. PJRAKE said: "the master volume still works and i can control the FX loop with the footswitch, however the...

    rect-o-verb

The reason I ask is that one of the Mesa techs insinuated that switching to a serial loop has its own inherent issues and I thought he mentioned that the solo feature was no longer available after making the mod.

    Out of Production amps

Good point about the head (although I've NEVER seen one :D ) But I think you answered the question if the roadking became the new "Flagship" More channels, more tones, more MONEY!!
