Thanks for the int Dom.
Yea, I picked it up at a pawnshop for $400.
I really wasn’t looking for another amp, or even this moi, but it too good of a deal to pass up .
I picked up this 2x12 combo amp a few years ago for a decent price.
I keep it my home studio and rarely move it.
The thing weighs a ton.
I’d like to put the chassis in a head cab.
Can I buy a quality less expensive black tolex covered head shell other than Boogie?
Also can I use the...
Congrats on your killer new IIC+ 60 watt head.
Here's my '84 60 watter along with my '83 MKIIC head combo and my '84 IIC+ Bubinga/Wicker Simul-Class Combo:
I hear what you're saying DTR's.
I've already decided to leave it in the home studio and let it be the great sounding amp that covers a lot of tonal ground.
It'll be my ALL-STAR go to amp.
I realized there's no sense in spending money in getting head shell.
I'm just going to accept it for...
Thanks Caustic69.
I've really been working with all the channels to try out of a lot of different tones.
It really is an amazing amp with so many tonal options.
It might never leave my home studio, but it will get used a lot for home recordings.
Sometimes weight can be the reason an amp stays or goes, no matter how good it sounds.
I'm going to have to see if I REALLY need to hold on to this beast.
I probably could sell it and get a nice guitar with the proceeds.
After reading this info above, it might be better just to leave it like it is.
Make the best use of it in it's combo form and utilize the 4 different channels in my home studio.
The 4 channels offer the most variety of any of the amps I own.
Just need to be thankful I have an amp like this.
You're right. It's one heavy MOFO for sure.
I'm really considering getting a head shell and use it as a head.
I don't want to have to lug the beast out anywhere for a live gig.
It's just fine in my home studio and unless I get the head shell, I'm just going to use it at home.
Thanks DTR;s
I already have what I think are the best Boogies out there
I've got an '84 MKIIC+ 60 watt combo, '84 MKIIC+ Fully loaded Simul-Class Bubinga/Wicker EV Combo, and an '83 MKIIC 60/100 watt loaded head.
This amp wasn't even on my radar at all. Mostly because it weighs 100 F'N lbs...
Thanks for the heads up on the Turtle Wax.
The over condition of the amp is really good, but a good clean up and waxing couldn't hurt at all.
