I have to commend people who post mods and are capable of modifying their amplifier but I'm not one of them. The best solution I found for a tighter recto is to buy a Siemens E83CC triple mica for V1.

You're not stupid unless I am too. I have a Mark III blue stripe combo and I run a Mesa Diesel bass 1x15 with the EVM15L in it and I love it. I seen a cheap 1x15 for sale and when I looked at speaker specs for the EVM12L and EVM15L they were very similar so I gambled on it. Got that low end...

I know when a preamp tube is at the end of its life it can sound horrible but what about when people advertise it at like 65% or 90%? Does it sound the same as when it's new? Does it gradually degrade in sound quality as it's used?

For example can I mix different brands of 5U4G? Could I mix 5U4G with 5U4GB? 5U4G with 5AR4?

I've done extensive tube rolling in my Mark III simul-class blue stripe and my favourite set is: V1 Tesla E83CC, V2 Siemens E83CC, V3 RFT ECC83, V4 JJ ECC83, V5 Sovtek 12AX7LPS in the pre amp section. Winged C EL34/6L6GC or all Tung Sol 7581a for the power section.

Yes it is simul-class Markedman. I run EL34s currently but I was tempted to try E34Ls for more power but I've heard other amps having problems with them and didn't want to take the chance.
