    Proper term for multiple Triaxis?

"two Triaxis preamps." "I have several Triaxis preamps in storage" Same with just about all branded items. I have two Apple computers, not I have two Apples. I have several Ford F150 pickups in my fleet. Common usage would be to say I have several F150s, but that is not proper.

What are Mesa Boogie going to do about the tube scarcity?

I will be surprised if Mesa's power tube supply issue is solved within the next 2 to 3 years. the US will likely not resume normal trade/economic relations with Russia any time soon. China supply issues will take at least another 2 years to clear up. Is also possible China decides to take of...

    Internal tube change and cleaning. 2:50, 50/50, 2:90;

I own the 2:50. I listed the other amps assuming they are all somewhat similar on the inside. I am ordering new power tubes soon from Mesa. I have owned the amp since about 2003 or a bit longer. During my ownership I have never opened it up. It is probably due for a cleaning to get rid of the...

Quieting Mesa power amp fan noise?

I am just updating this old post for anyone looking up info. I contacted Mesa shortly after posting this. They said running the 2:50 without fan should be fine as long as it has room top and bottom for air circulation and I am not pushing it. What I did was install a mini toggle switch for...

2:90 as stand alone amp and pedal platform?

Mesa website says that the 2:90 can be used as a standalone amp. Has me thinking of getting a 2:90 for use as a really basic amp. With just a volume and presence knob and 180 total watts it seems like it would be a pretty pure pedal platform for stereo effects. How is it when used sans preamp...

Quieting Mesa power amp fan noise?

I recently purchased a Quilter 101. It is so easy to gig with that I probably will not go back to heavier gear for shows. I own a Triaxis and 2:50. I don't gig with them anymore, but I'm not letting them go. I like them too much. They sound great even at quiet city apartment levels. I want to...

Triaxis noise floor issue solved. Time for New Tubes.

I was having a high noise floor on Rhythm Green Mode. Just as an experiment I switched V2 and V3 tube position. This solved my noise floor issue. The noise or hiss is drastically reduced, but not entirely eliminated. The bad sounds, though not in the clean channels, are now switched to the Lead...

Smallest, most shallow rack for the Triaxis?

I use a Road Ready 6-unit 14" effects rack. I use angled George L plugs and found an angled midi cord. Back of Road Ready case fits on with a little room to spare. I don't have to unplug anything in the rack. Just connect the speaker cables, one power cord, and one midi cable and I'm set to gig.

    New Mesa/Boogie Rack Product Ideas

I would like them to bring back a stereo 20 watt with a switch to bring it down to a stereo 5 watts. The single unit size is great. I probably would not buy it in a larger form factor. Something loud enough for a club show, not too loud, and also quiet enough to record at home.

    Help me build my rig.....please

Most modern rack effects will have a tuner built in. I would use a power strip attached to the drawer, the power conditioner will not be necessary. I've tried a wireless, but more trouble than a help. Start with a budget if you want realistic suggestions. Axe FX II runs $2,500. Eventide units...

Mesa Boogie Mark Five:25 through 4 cabs

    Nice comparison.

    What cabs...

All things equal when it comes to sealed cabinets a larger box volume will generally make the slope of low frequency roll off more gradual and change the F3 point. Larger volume will not change the high frequency response or help you cut into the mix, but may give you a bit more thump depending...

Speaker choice for vertical 2x12 build?

No issues doing so using a 50/50 and mismatched speakers on my end. My current band set up is a Eminence Delta Pro 12a (ported) and a Celestion V30 (sealed) using a 50/50. The V30 and Delta Pro I am not a fan of by themselves, but they compliment each other wonderfully. You shouldn't have much...

Frequency range of presence knobs on 2:90/2:Fifty?

I have a 2:fifty, I am wondering what the presence knob does. Does it cut or boost, and what frequency range does it effect? Thanks.

Two 1x12 cabs or one 2x12?

If it was a choice would you take two 1x12 cabs, or one 2x12 cabinet? Should it make a difference? Will it make a difference in recording? And what about if its for a stereo amp? Thanks.
