    Mesa TA15

"Hello, I bought a used Ta15. Unfortunately, he hisses uncomfortably loud (only at 15 or 25 watts), even if no instrument is connected. Especially when the Cut switch is activated. Is it the tubes (which ones) or more? Does somebody has any idea." Hi Claus, Sounds like an output tube is noisy...

Noise with brand new Mark Five 25 Combo

Did you try it in another room/location? Sometimes a rattle can be from an entertainment center or other furniture, but you would swear in a court of law that it was coming from your amp or speaker when it really isn't

Mesa Potentially not selling through Guitar Center any more.

Yeah, over a year has passed, and GC is still going strong. So much for the predictions of pending doom. I am still a satisfied customer. 8)

TA-15 - Channel 1 Amp Noise Issue (Sound Clip included)

Not only noise, but ground is for safety. Without a ground on the electrical outlet, you can be injured or killed. I would take care of proper grounding before I worried about noise.

    Road King problem

It could be a tube(s), they are the usual first suspects, but how brightly they glow (referring to the heater, orange glow) is no indicator of function. Some tubes glow brighter than others, and some seem to have no glow at all, and still function normally. Typically, an intermittent problem as...

TA15 green channel volume Pot problem

Hi Mário Leite, I wouldn't worry about it. Some amps do this, sometimes due to a pot that doesn't quite go to zero, and it's not a big deal. Why in the world would you want to use an amp with the volume on zero? That makes no sense. Turn the guitar volume to zero and forget about it.

Tech's Opinion Re: MESA Fixed Bias

I agree, as you can get duds or mismatched tubes from any vendor, and it does happen. The only way to be sure that everything is copacetic is to check. Just a couple of points about the linked article. There is no such thing as "The Russian Sovtek Company". Sovtek is not the...

One power tube glows more than the others?

No blue glow might indicate that the particular tube has no current flow through it. It could also be normal, as some tubes have the blue glow and some do not. You might want to check the current with a bias probe to be sure.

    Another new Mesa amp

Man that sucks! I would seriously press MB for warranty repair. If you decide to keep it, you can probably get some help here in sorting out the issue, and I would be glad to help, realizing that not having the schematics can be a hindrance. Initially, particularly after your second go-around...

    Another new Mesa amp

Just swap the tube with the one on the other side, to see if the problem goes with the tube, or stays in the position, or just doesn't occur again. If it is one of the inner tubes, swap the two inner, and if it is one of the outer, swap the two outer.

Just so you know you're not insane, I'll respond. Actually, I have thought about getting a TA-30 also, and definitely keeping the 15, so I'm interested in hearing more about your experience with the 30.
