I'm sure this has been mentioned before. I opened my 2010 MarkV and took out the chassis. noticed on the main board it says "The Mark 2 See Beyond" I wonder if the newer rev boards have that. gave me a bit of chuckle.

i have a recto pre as well as a triaxis/2:90 all i can say is that i much prefer the triaxis's mark sounds over the recto sounds. the recto just doesnt seem to have that immediate attacky feel. it feels mushy and sounds like ripping paper to me. i will say. that with some boost in front of...

ive got a v2 triaxis without the fat mod.. the recto mode just doesnt do it for me...i have a recto recording pre...and use it for those tones. the triaxis sounds exactly what it is...90's not exactly modern anymore, but not vintage either. i would also say it can sound thin at times. but...

the mesas come with mesa branded tubes...they are voiced based for those tubes, and yes...they are a bit more expensive, and yes they are just re-branded Electro Harmonix tubes...i recently retubed my 2:90...and basically just went with the 6l6gc str440's and while i feel like its a bit brighter...

mine was doing this, i'd hit the standby and there would be a super loud buzzing noise from the b channel speakers then nothing....kept blowing fuses, so i bought new fuses, and swapped the tubes around...then A channel blew...so i retubed the whole darn thing since all the tubes were marked...

Mine was doing this for a while....then my recto-recording-pre blew up...so i swapped the tubes from the recto and triaxis and it has only done it once since...i jiggled the tubes again..made sure everything was tight. and its behaved so far. you may also want to get some contact cleaner and...

i run my recto-pre through a 2:90, i cant say that it sounds exactly like a dual recto head, but it sounds good enough for me.

Sent her off to Mesa. Gonna be a few bucks. In other news since the tube shuffle my triaxis hasn't been acting up anymore. Although I've prolly jinxed it now.

took the tubes out of my triaxis and still have the same issue. tried a few different combinations...no avail :( guess i'll take it to guitar center and see how much the repair will be. -Sen
