TA-15 no effects loop, how do effects sound in front of her?

I use a TA-15 (with two 1x12 Lonestar cabs) as a backup/alternative to my Lonestar Special 2x12 and I think it's an excellent amp. I've never actually used any effects in the loop of any of the amps that I've had that have them because my most frequently used effects are gain/boost types which...

    Ta-15 channel 2modes??

I don't think it's quite that specific to be honest, H1 is "Brit overdrive" (thus: Marshall) and H2 is "US hi-gain overdrive" in the traditional Mesa sense. For what it's worth, and to my ear, I find H1 sits closest to a JTM45/Bluesbreaker if you want to pin it down to a particular model...

    I'm Back! NAD TA-15

Great choice, I've had mine for 3-4 years and it's a fabulous amp! I run mine through a pair of 1x12 Lonestar Cabs (black tolex and weave grillecloth with silver piping) loaded with C90s and it sounds and looks superb!

    Forgetting about CH2 LSC v2

At the moment I'm doing precisely this with my LSS: running through CH1 only with the FX loop and MV disengaged. I've never been an FX loop user and I generally found the solo boost to be a bit fiddly in getting the levels nice and balanced, and that even if I got it sounding right for one...

    Transatlantic TA-15 Owners!

I've used my TA-15 in a variety of band practice and gigging settings, mostly in 15W mode but also in the 25W Dynawatt mode, and I've had no problem with clean headroom, and that's un-mic'ed AND with relatively loud drummers. If you're going to use the amp's natural dirt and want reverb though...

    TA 15 Newbie

All my strats have their bridge single coils hooked up to the middle tone control, I find it approximates the tone, if not actually the output, of a humbucker, and works very nicely with H1.

Lonestar living up to its reputation

I've got to agree, but I suspect that most people who don't get on with a Lonestar are likely searching for that more traditional Mesa super saturated hi-gain tones and my view is that that's not what this amp's vibe is all about. When I first got my LSS 2x12, new, almost exactly 5 years and...

    TA-30 combo question

I've got a TA-15 head and a LSS 2x12 combo, I also play blues and blues/rock. If I had to make a choice between the LSS and a TA-30 combo I'd go for the LSS, it's just got the best cleans of any amp I've tried and a spectacular sounding reverb. The TA has more gain available to it though, so if...

    TA 15 Newbie

Hi James, I'm using a Neunaber WET Reverb on my pedal board. fantastic sounding pedal! I've got to say that for some reason I find the 5W setting on the TA to be too quiet for anything other than home practice purposes, but with my Lonestar Special (also through 2x12) is plenty loud enough for...

    TA 15 Newbie

I've had my TA-15 head for around 3 years now, I use it primarily as a backup to my Lonestar Special 2x12, although I do use it with two 1x12 Lonestar cabs loaded with Black Shadows for smaller gigs relatively regularly. While there's a wealth of fabulous sounds available with this amp I've...

LSS Ch. 2 Drive ever cut out on you?

Interesting: I had a very similar, if not identical issue with my LSS a couple of years or so ago, but on investigation it turned out that hard bypassing the loop fixed the issue, and since I wasn't using the loop or the solo boost function it's been hard bypassed ever since. One of these days...

Lonestar living up to its reputation

I've got to agree here, my LSS 2x12 has some of the finest cleans I've heard, anywhere!

Finally got to play a TA/RA series amp!

The TA-15 is a fantastic amp, I've had one for a couple of years and I've gigged it many times, including last night. I've been a huge fan of EL84s over recent years, there's just something about their tone when you push them, they sure as hell can get worked-up angry! They don't have the bass...

Mesa TA-15 gets hot, is this normal?

I used my TA-15 head last night at a gig in a relatively cozy venue and yes, the amp runs hot: after the show I turned the amp off, let it stand for a few mins, then put it in its bag but left the bag's top open to let it cool further for probably 20... then I drove home (approx half an hour)...

    TA-15 question/problem

Sounds like it could be rectifier sag in 5W mode, it may just be more pronounced at lower master volume levels.
