    V 35 Tube Swap

I wouldn't use a tube swap to try to get the sound you're after. I'd rather spend some time trying to dial in the settings to something close to what you need instead - there's a ton of latitude in each of these channels, you can probably find the ideal amount of overdrive you need if you look...

    Mark 5/35 reverb - footswitch?

Yes, of course - I should have done some basic research before posting. My Mark IV also has a reverb switch jack. But yes, the Mark V:35 doesn't have a reverb switch jack - sorry.

    Mark 5/35 reverb - footswitch?

No. That's the way all Mark amps are - you get the dial in the back, and that's it.

Question for Mark V 35 owners

I have a Mark IV, and recently got a Mark V:35 also. It's too soon for me to say for sure, but I think for most practical purposes the V:35 would be an adequate replacement/substitute for you Mark III. It definitely has all the character and sound - that definitive Mark series sound, plus the...

Wicker speaker cover for a Mark IV?

I think I've gotten over this. Very recently got my custom ordered MKV:35 with a wicker grill! Very nice. So now I think I'll leave the MKIV the way it is, stock.

    The Mark IV thread....!!

It sounds like you have one of the transitional models, like mine. Nice to know about these other little differences!

Wicker speaker cover for a Mark IV?

Does anyone know if there's any way to get a wicker speaker cover for my Mark IV combo? Thanks!

The Beauty of Mark IV Rhythm 2 ch.

Oh yea - I love R2! I use it a lot - it covers the marshall sounds really well. I keep pull fat on both this and the lead channel all the time - if there was a way to glue them, I would. Oh, and thanks for the pic markedman. I also have a transitional IV - once in a while i have to explain it...

Mark IVa vs IVb Lead Tone

I think you're getting pretty deep into cork sniffing territory by worrying about this. I wouldn't base a purchase decision on this kind of distinction. Not to mention there's also the elusive, rare, non-A/non-B variant out there (I've got one). I hear it's the best!

I made a full tube clone of the Mark IIC+ preamp... in a pedal

Sounds excellent, I'm intrigued. Found your website, lots of nice stuff there!

Bass Knob sensitivity on Mark IV Lead Channel

On my mark IV I have the clean channel bass set to 3, and the lead channel set to 1.

    Mark IV Stuff

It's pretty subjective how these 2 knobs work together. To my ears Lead Gain brings up the gnarly; Lead Drive brings up the same but with a bit of compression. They both just control levels of different stages of the cascading gain stages. You can pretty much switch them around and get similar...

    Mark IV disappointing gain

Try experimenting with the switches on the back - the Harmonics/Mid Gain one in particular can make a big difference - Mid Gain seems a bit gainier to me, although I've found I prefer the harmonics setting in the long run. Make sure you Pull Fat on both gain knobs. Especially on Rhy2 - it...

My Mark IV sounds harsh thru V30's

I never turn the bass knob up past 2. Even that can be too much depending on other factors.
