    Question About Swapping Speakers

I've got a custom 2x12 Recto cabinet that I - thinking back on it - mistakenly ordered with two 8 ohm V30s wired for mono/stereo. I'm planning on swapping them out with two 16 ohm V30s and rewiring the cabinet back to 8 ohm mono. The two original V30s will go in a set of Bogner 1x12 Cubes from...

Are you buying the Mark V Just or mainly for the IIc+?

And John Petrucci... That being said, I'm getting one probably after the new year for the following reasons: 1. The Clean channel - the Mark IV Rhythm 1 was probably the best I've played. 2. The British channel mode - I like the particular attack this kind of Marshall-y circuit gives 3. It's...

    Mark V Combo rattlings!

Yes, that's totally it. Kevin from London Power HATES combo amps because the physics of them will eventually destroy your power tubes, especially if you crank the amp.

Well, June is just about here.

This is why I'm waiting until at least the end of this year to even think about ordering one. Well that and I need to demo one extensively first. I want to be sure when I plunk down the cash to get a Mark V in hardwood/wicker... AND that I get it within a reasonable amount of time.

Mark V compared to the IIC+?

I've read from his tech when they were beta testing it on the last DT tour, Petrucci had said that the MarkV is dead as balls on with regard to the IIC+ mode...

    Mark V tidbits (update)

My DC-5 has it's own issues with switching and reverb; the switching "wash" is pretty heinous particularly when you go from the lead to rhythm channels. It is the 3rd and final version of the amp, though. I agree with your assessment based on my Mark IIC+s. I have a 1x12 open back which...

    Mark V = Triaxis/Nomad hybrid?

If you want some good tech discussion on the Triaxis, I'd recommend www.tubefreak.com. He's got some really great tips on how to choose tubes to optimize that unit. The actual point I wanted to make, was that although possibly similar in organization, the circuit architecture of the two units...

    Mark V shipping estimate...update 3/17/09

Probably a question of making sure the factory's got all the production supplies in hand and ready to go before they start assembling. Especially if the pre-order demand has been really great.

When the Mark V shows up in Guitar Center

I bought a Taylor 814 that ended up having problems with the electronics and pretty much without question they swapped me for a brand new one. And this was only after having the guitar maybe a week. So, indeed, I've never had any real problems with them, save for sales people never calling...

    When in magazines and stores?

I hope Guitar Player gives it a decent in-depth review and not one of those half-assed 'advertising sheet disguised as a review' that they tend to do. And Mesa/Boogie has recently changed their dealer agreements to permit online sales. So far I've found a few online retailers plus Mesa/Boogie...
