Nice, I'm glad you're having a better experience this go around! The JP is a great amp and I just got a red stripe III to compliment it; in comparison, I think the red stripe is more aggressive while the JP is more smooth/"looser" (in a good way).

So I picked up a Marshall JCM 800 4x12, original g12t-75s from around 1985 included (very dofferent from the newer versions of these speakers). Long story short, running my JP-2C through this cab has yielded the best mesa mark tones i've ever heard, especially if you're into the metallica...

Great comparison. If you ever get a chance, can you compare again but with the presence pulled on both amps (in the vid I think presence was pushed on IV and pulled on JP)?

First change tubes, like everybody said that's usually the first culprit in amp issues. If that doesn't help, have the amp checked by a qualified/authorized tech than can pull it out of the chassis and examine it fully; used amps are a mixed bag and it may not be obvious that something is...

No longer for sale, decided to keep this awesome amp so I don't buy another rectifier mere months from now as usual lol.

On ch 2, try lowering your presence to 9:00-11:00 (depending on room) with it pulled and raise your treble to 3:00; also, pull your gain knob out. On the g-eq for ch 2, leave it engaged in that v shape but drop your last two sliders so the v is slightly offset. Let us know how this works...

I definitely agree that there will not be an adverse impact to the resale value of the c+: if anything, the JP will cause the demand for original c+ amps to increase as people become exposed to the c+ tone out of the JP. On that note, I disagree with some of the sentiment in this thread...imo...
