LSS only works in 30w mode?!?!?

Mine was blowing Rec tubes. They suggested a Copper cap SS instead of tube Rec. I haven't had any problem since. My Fender amps have original Rec tubes in them from when I bought them in the 70s. For $2K, I am not sure why this amp is high maintenance. One of the reasons I got rid of the...

    Lonestar Tommy Folkesson Mod

I still don't see a link to the mods. Am I missing something??

    Solo stopped working on LSS

So did you check the cable to make sure it has continuity? Or is it in the box? You have 3 conductors in that cable, so it can switch 2 different things. Also, there must be another 12AX7 cascade gain stage added when you kick in Solo, check your 12AX7s.

Stupid Question: How Do Non-bias-matched Tubes Affect Sound

I would caution not using the non MB matched tubes. The amp can go into runaway, stress the transformers, blow the fuse and a Rectifier tube. I went to one of my local music shops. I needed what I thought was 1 tube since I was using it in 5 watt Class A mode. Well their version of...

    Anybody Roll Without OD Pedals?

LSS and Strats SCs and P90s. Vol pot swap mod and Reeder mod. ch2 is great OD now. And don't use any other pedals either. They dampen the tone.

What about taking the back off your Speaker cab and making it an open back? ron

LSS only works in 30w mode?!?!?

Or non MB matched power tubes. They can cause the LSS to go into Runaway and blow fuses, melt wire coatings or cook the transformers. Was the reduction mod done on it? Ron

LSS best tubes for max clean headroom

I found out the hard way, you need to use MB matched power tubes, other brands might let the amp go into runaway and blow fuses, burn wire and transformers. Ron

    Lonestar Tommy Folkesson Mod

It doesn't look like this is for the Lonestar Special? If so are ther pictures and dialog for the mod in English? VR, Ron

    Lonestar Special not loud anymore?

J200george, Did you figure out what was wrong with it? What wattage are you running it? 5 watt is tube rectifier, 15 and 30 are SS Diode rectifier. I you flip to stand-by and change wattage, and it still sound not loud, it is not the tube rectifier. Probably 1 of the 12AX7s not a power tube.

    Lonestar V2...what are the changes?

I was told by MB that the Class a powere designis proprietary to MB. Not your single tube Class A, but a pair of the EL-84s are involved. So there is a slight push-pull tube pairing to this Class A style.

    Lone Star Classic pick attack

I have an LSS and the pick attack is what I like, but using the 5 watt setting and tube rectifier, it is melodic. I also have tinnitus. One of the resons I use 5 watt. I don't need more sound energy, just nice OD with 3rd order harmonics for that sweet old school roundness to the pick attack...
